We need a major declutter (I've actually just spotted a box of Christmas cards still out from December!) and to create a better routine to keep on top of things. Ideally, I'd like to have someone come in once a week to clean the kitchen and bathroom, and run the hoover around but with the way it is, I'd be ashamed to have someone come to the house!
Welcome
Can i suggest that you conquer the clutter first. You can't tidy it up, it only gets moved around - so fling, fling, fling :T
Secondly, of you can afford it, get your cleaner in now. Tidy up (or at least rid of clutter) one or 2 rooms, and let them start there. They'll have seen far worse, and cleaning is what they're paid for, so they won;t judge you
I've just ordered half a Berkshire pig for my freezer, to collect at the end of the month :j:j:j:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

If it helps I used to be a cleaner.
The house was a real mess each week, and the floor was covered in dog pee and poop as the owners couldn't be bothered to train their dogs. I also used to look after a couple of children. The family themselves were lovely but the house an absolute tip. They would leave all their clothes on the floor, including their dirty undies and any contraceptive used from the night before. I used to feel very sorry for their cleaner.
I'm sure a bit of clutter would be nothing!0 -

Spare room is clean and tidy - had to sort it out as my dad is staying tonight... I've moved most of the clothes back into my wardrobe and drawers but am pretty convinced i won't need most of them... I wear about 2% of my wardrobe on a regular basis now I work from home!
Need to fill the DW, put more clothes away and go to bed.
Had to cook properly tonight as my dad was here... Can't believe how much washing up it makes!0 -

I go nuts with cleaning when i am stressed, and tbh just need to offload on you guys a bit if u dont mind.
Today my front door handle was shaking like someone was trying to open it (first thought someone is trying to break in) looked through keyhole its my grandad, opened the door and he just looked at me like he was surprised to see me, he walks in and couldnt get a word out, kept stammering and looking confused, asked if he was ok and he just looked at me blankly like he didnt understand what i was saying and stumbled a bit, tried to get him to stop and sit he wouldnt begged in fact....and he left, i had sick ds in the house sleeping so couldnt leave so i called up my uncle, mum and gran...mum lives a few mins away so got a cab and started driving around few mins later she found him and took him back to her house (bkground info:mum does not speak to her mum or brother, (my gran and uncle) so naturally given the circumstances i called my uncle and gran and told them he was there and they got in the car and went to my mums (not to go inside and stay but just to make sure my grandad was ok and wait for ambulance) phoned mum and told her and she flipped and said she had it under control and she was handling it and that they shouldnt come, i understand there are family issues but when there is an emergency i believe she should be civil and not as she did and put the phone down on my uncle and tell him not to call again, everyone should pull together, i told her that i didnt care about what problems they had but every1 should be there for grandad....so she put the phone down on me and flipped out. Anyway they are at the hospital awaiting tests, they said he seem ok now talking properly though he couldnt speak properly for an hour after he was at mine, i wish everyone could just pull together instead of thinking about old insignificant problems........so have been cleaning everything in my house (so much so that my hangers are all evenly spaced) this is what i do in crisis and i cant do anything to help, im kinda OCD normally (cleaning everything with bleach etc, using toothbrushes to clean) but stress makes it worse so today i have been really bad, even my son 3 picks up on it as whenever he goes to my mums house he says it stinks and its dirty (though to be honest its a normal standard but i cant stand being there as i just want to clean everything). I just need to know he is ok. Well sorry for the rant just needed to get it off my chest...........SPC Member#1096 Target £150 Feb Count £82.18

after LAST week Pen when I worked for FIVE WHOLE DAYS
Including the BH  That's cruel and unusual punishment :rotfl:Logging off in a sec. Thanks for all the support over the last week, not sure if I will be on tomorrow, certainly not before the funeral anyway. You are all great and I am so glad for your support x
My thoughts will be with you tomorrow :A:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
AJ thoughts and prayers are with you for tomorrow xx
love hugs and some spare spoons to those that need em
my flying has come to an abrubt halt for the next few days, there is only so much i can delegate to OH, and as long as its very basic he will do it, but most of the deep cleaning is out of his depth so the house is going to have to stay a bit grubby for the time being.
i did way to much yesterday and now my back is in agony so im going to go total rest and only do the bare minimum i need to since i cant take my lovely painkillers at the moment. not sure the doc will let me have more cortisone injections either, thats something i will need to talk to the midwife about next week as if it continues like this then i will be signed off and that i dont want to happen.0 -
Pigpen (((big hugs))) I think I am very lucky that my ex has had nothing to do with my girls (now 19 & (nearly)16) for the last (nearly) 16 years!! Much simpler
I did used to tell my eldest that daddy was 'busy' when she asked why he didn't come to see her. She knows him now, and has nothing to do with him (her choice
) Poor squidlies don't understand
Missus Aka - families!! (((big hugs))) for you aswell. I hope your grandad is ok.
Solstice_Twilight - Welcome!! you have come to the right placeBaby steps, you will get there.
Well, i haven't done as much as I would have hoped. I am still waiting for my vac filter to completely dry, so no hoovering here. I did manage to check my 1st Aid Box (was on my list!), walk the dog, cook dinner and do a balance transfer from a card that has increased it's interest rate by over 10% in the last year or so!
Now, need to find my list...0
