So long as they understand the responsibility and know what/who to contact in an emergency I see no reason why not. How many kids did you have by the age of 20? What will cause less stress? Going away with them left in charge or staying and havig them all on your own?
My mother lives the next street up with my sister and my other sisters are all in 5 minutes walking distance.. apart from the 1 in London.
I actually think I will struggle on my own with Squeak, I find it very difficult to lift her to feed or change her, it kills me carrying her up to bed. I could manage the others easily.
BUT... I barely trust DS1 to look after the cats, rabbits and fish..
though.. he looked after Jacob without killing him, dropping him or maiming him for 2 years and looking after a baby is much harder than making sure children of 6, 8 and 10 don't set the house alight.. the older ones potter about and take care of themselves pretty much.. it would just be cooking dinner.. but there are pizzas and oven chips and for 1 night does it really matter?
I find thinking about it stressful!!!!!!! lol.... Why am I so indecisive and untrusting when it comes to someone looking after the beasts? We would leave about lunchtime Saturday and be back about 6 on Sunday so not long really!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Eek! First one up!
Minion has the Orthodontics appt this morning, so I'm going to retrieve the dirty stopout cat from behind the shed and have a cuppa before my day starts at this ridiculously early hour.

Another beautiful day here :j I'm going to do my chores and some paperwork, then out in the garden :j I have a tea and cake date with some friends this afternoon, and as there's no choir tonight, another friend is coming round to share a glass of something red :beer:Oh and my hand is still numb/tingling - this surely isn't right????
Ho long have you had this? A couple of years ago I was woken every night by terrible tingling in my hand, and I couldn;t sleep for a week. I went to the docs and they diagnosed an infection. Can't remember what they gave me, but it cleared up quickly thenNot talking to you
And not talking to you

Not too bad I don't think even if I say so myself!Another day off today with my girls, so I am going to try and do a little catching up with some things I missed as well as todays stuff. Oh - and I generally leave the vacuuming to my DH as he is a little OCD about it and would do it again anyway!I have to say I am enjoying the thread, and having someone else suggest the order of things is great - I used to get myself into such a boring old routine and am actually quite enjoying the whole thing!
