  • Well, she didn't have a seizure or anything (as far as I could see) on the EEG - she was looking nervous as we went into the room, so the woman conducting the test explained it to her quite well - and she let me take some pictures of DD all wired up so she could see what had been done to her head. Told her she looked like a packet of Scoobies had attacked her in the night :D

She was quite embarrassed when I crept over and put my hand on her leg (couldn't hold her hand because they were connected up as well) as the strobe part came up, but once there was a brief break, she didn't want me to go and sit down. Mind you, had the test lasted any longer, I would have needed crane assistance to get off the floor where I was kneeling to stay out of the camera range (the test was filmed). She giggled when the woman said the test was over and I whispered 'Good, 'cos I can't feel my feet anymore'.

I did offer to be all quiet and serious, but the woman said 'that wouldn't be your Mum, then, would it?' and Minion agreed, saying 'well, except for when she wants me to do my room'.

Got her some lunch, went with her to school (I hate that hill so so so so so so so so much!) and then did some shopping before coming back here, sitting down with a gardening magazine and a cuppa - the next thing I knew, she was back in from school and talking at me about her drum lesson being really good and overrunning. I'd been asleep for about 2 hours.

Since then, I have swished around the kitchen.

Found the missing cat - he went AWOL last night and I wasn't in the mood for searching for him, so didn't actually know he was technically missing. When I opened the back door at 2.30pm and called, he shot in like an exocet from behind the shed. He has been waddling through someone's coal heap, by the looks of it - or their workshop. I dread to think. He cleaned the cat bowls as sparkly as if they had been done in the DW, which saves me a job, and promptly crashed out on my bed. Serves him right. If he's any dirtier next time he does this, he's having a bath before he comes back upstairs.

    DW x 1

Decluttered lots of very rude words about the oven going bang again. It has to be a house wiring problem - well, after I check the bulb tomorrow when it's stone cold (instead of being at 200ºC), I can screech at the builder.

Eaten dinner, which had fortunately just finished cooking as the consumer unit went bang.

And am lounging around in the relative safety of my bedroom as minion has taken it upon herself to water the garden and hose the windows down at the same time [adds 'cleaning water marks off windows by handwashing them' onto the mental list of things to do]. Guess it's her way of showing she appreciates me occasionally. :) [whispers 'Giving me more work to do']

Have to collect and fill another prescription tomorrow and buy splat mush, so out again, but hopefully will be able to keep on top of things flying-wise, as it seems to be working quite well this week [crosses fingers, touches wood, and counts to 10]

Inline roller skates~~ which are the best ones / type/ what should you look for when buying them, do any of your kids have a pair / how did they get on with them/ what is the upper age for them?? and are they good exercise / or just something to clutter the garage up?
    Thank you,

Just as long as you don't get what I had this afternoon,

Coming along a duel-carriageway at about 35Mph, saw a greyish blur, so slowed a bit then realised it was a boy in school uniform, on roller blades, whizzing along in lane 1. He was about 10 - 12 yrs old and didn't seemed at all bothered about the traffic...

if he was mine I'd've read him the 'riot act'.
