I encourage everyone I know to enter comps, but i find they just can't be bothered to do the work and enter them. When people say" you are lucky" i say no i'm not ,i ask them how many competitions they enter ,when they say none ,well how can you expect to win then, my answer is well how can you expect to win.My family are good about my wins .0

I have had an extremely lucky last two months and did get a bit of 'your so lucky, we never win' but ive had months of no wins too. I religiously enter comps everyday its how I spend my free time (which to us makes loads fo sense but to others is weird!) I tell everyone I come into contact with about the fabulous Mr Martin lewis and say, if oyu want to win you have to go on his site and enter! My best mate started comping last month after I had a brilliant win of an xbox360, laptop, camera and watch and rang me a week later to say she had won a 2 night VIP trip to the cannes film festival. I always tell her about my wins and did feel a bit guilty when I was winning all the time it seems and she wasnt but then I won on the argos comp and got her to enter continuously aswell and she won a patio set.
I just see it that every time I win something and tell my nearest and dearest its encouraging them to have a go an give them the chance to win too. I have made no secret that I am trying to win the entire extended families christmas presents and if they get something shop bought I will have failed the challenge
Dont feel guilty about your wins, if they want to win badly enough they will dedicate as much time to comping as you doSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
I also get the "You are so lucky" and "You are so jammy" remarks. I tend to keep quiet about wins now. Sick of telling people that you have to spend time on comps!0

A friend of mine made a good comment - he said that I was doing well at making my own luck
That's exactly it - we're putting in the effort and they think it's simply down to luck
Apaprently the legendary golfer, Arnold Palmer, said "The more I practice, the luckier I get"
Maybe the MSE Comper motto should be "The more I enter, the luckier I get"Best win ever: Trip to the Galapagos Islands in 20100 -
I always share my wins and also enter things I know I can share. For instance OH and FIL love golf and I won a Golf break. So im taking my inlaws with me.
I also won them tickets to see spurs.
I have given away alot of my prizes aswell as I enter comps I know people will like.
My friend is expecting her first baby so at the moment im trying to win baby bits for her0 -
Don't feel guilty you put the effort in to enter all the competitions, most people who say they never win, never actually bother entering either! Just enjoy your wins. I don't feel guilty as I take the time to enter and all the things I win go towards my family have a few little extra treats. I've only won really big prize a luxury spa break in Spain, but I hadn't had a holiday in almost 10 years, so I think I deserved it!
Just enjoy your wins and don't worry want anyone else say's.:hello:0 -
oh dear
i wish i was winning & i wouldnt feel guilty for anyone
there are always jealous less fortunate people
but this is your life.. your hobby... your wins
do not feel guilty
you are kind & share but maybe think twice about teling them next time if they are going to dig it in?
if they were 'that nice' they would keep schtum & perhaps be happy for you?
well done on your 5k wins too :T
ps giving them a win wont stop them when you win again0 -
Why feel guilty ? you have 'earned' your wins by spending time entering loads of competitions and trawling through sites. I think you have been lucky but you know what everybody could try a bit harder if they were really jealous.
I also try and get people to enter lots of competitions and I also use some prizes for pressies so I dont always announce when I win but am very excited to get a win now and then.
The comping fairy seems to have gone off me at the moment but its not a problem I am sure she will be back.
Well done on your wins and tell anyone moaning that you worked hard for them.:T0 -
I wouldn't feel guilty! I spend a lot of time doing competitions and my family have now started entering some which is great :-) but they don't enter as many as me. My SIL has recently started comping and any baby wins I give to her as she's got a little boy. It's nice if you want to share but don't feel guilty just because you win more. xxx0

I look out for prizes others would like to receive and enter in the hope of winning for them. But I never feel guilty about winning although have never been as lucky as the OP but if I were to accidentally win something I have no use for I feel a bit bad that I should have left that comp for someone else.0
