Basically I was meant to have it then and there but had a client meeting (presenting all day standing up) and a drive to manchester the very next day so they told me I shouldn't do that as I'd need to rest! Hence I made the re-appointment for a date of my choice when I knew I could get the day off. Stupidly I picked a Monday so back at work the next day, but at least I'm not on site or anything.

Can't fault them so far, very polite and informative!

Just to update my never ending waiting for a appointment.
I got seen yesterday at Oxford Hospital which is the hospital i asked to be referred to as my local hospital was just being useless.
I was in and out in 15 minutes and had 2 punch biopsy's done and didnt feel a thing ! The staff at Oxford was excellent. They were really nice and caring.Didnt treat me as though i was just a NHS number.
I should get results back in 5 weeks maybe shorter but i am not at all stressed over that cause if i have to go back again i know its not as painful as it sounds.
Over 13 weeks i had to wait for my appointment and at last i can get my sleep pattern back as was not sleeping for the worry
  • Got there in the end then! Glad it all went ok, you can relax now after all that waiting. It is nice to hear some positives on the caring side too.

Just so silly that you had to wait so long for this

Thanks spicyprawn . My local hospital appointment system seems to be they send you a appointment 2 weeks before your appointment.Oxford sends you a appointment date within a week of getting the letter that you need a colposcopy the date might be a week later or 6 weeks and theres no answer machine if you need to call them.

I am not in the catchment area to always go to Oxford which is a shame but any follow ups i need with this colposcopy i can go back to Oxford.

I found the drive to Oxford more stressful than the colposcopy it self !

But after waiting so long i was up on that bed legs wide open eager to have the results.I am always shy like most women with anything to do with that area but not this time.
  • That is really good to be able to go back for any follow ups. I'm sure your mind is at ease about that!
lol I'm not surprised at all how eager you were! I would have had velcro stripped trousers on and just whipped them right off hehe.
It is nice to see from your writing style too that you are more relaxed now, it's such a heavy weight off your shoulders.

Thanks again spicyprawn.Yeah i am so much more relaxed now as i feel like i am living my life and not just waiting for a appointment. I have really not done anything since June i was just waiting for a appointment .
Any one else having to have the colposcopy it really is nothing to be worried about. My stress was my local hospital that wasnt keeping to Government guidelines and having a answer machine that no one replies to anyway !
Oh must add how nice it was to call up my local hospital and tell them i dont need a appointment with them mind you it was the answer machine i had to say it .I wanted to say so much more about the crap system they have there but just put the phone down .

Missed your update imho, glad it all went ok. I just had a normal result from my 6 month check up today so I am really pleased I don't have to pulled about again so soon! :)
