I can't believe you are still waiting! I feel angry for you. I hope your doc can help you, good luck with the appointment.
My results (from first) were severe, I had my appointment booked for 3 weeks but they did say they would ring if any thing came up sooner.
I wonder if any one knows if my first 6 monthly smear has to be booked in or do they do it? After my lletz the letter just said a future care plan will be made(or something along those lines).0

Spicyprawn. I think the clinic will do your next smear so that will be booked in as they will still need to put that liquid in you to see whats there.
My doc was really nice and has gave me a number to call the gynaecologist secretaries ,just called them and its a answer machine ! But Doc did say let her know how i get on.I am only asking them again when my appointment is going to be as they said it be late July and its now mid August.
I did ask about being referred to a different hospital but she said i am going to one of the best.
I am now at the stage where i dont even want to go.
The system stinks that you go for a smear and you get the letter back in 10 days and the hospital are not even meeting the government guidelines. I should have been seen within 62 days and then been put on 18 week pathway where if i need surgery i have it over and done in 18 weeks.
I am not holding my breath for the hospital to call me back at all.
This is the PDF with the government guidelines http://www.cancerscreening.nhs.uk/cervical/publications/nhscsp20.pdf0

Could you ring the main hospital and ask to be put through? Seems ridiculous all these bloody answer phones! I would be put off about going too
Is there a complaint system or anything like that? I'll have a look at the pdf
Not looking forward to being prodded about with again next month it should be. 0 next month it should be. 0

spicyprawn I am ringing the main hospital and being put through. So thats both departments using answer machines which is ok if they bother to call you back.
I even asked the Doctor if her secretary could call for me but she said they dont do that. But Doctor wants to know how i got on.
Looks like that government guidelines is useless cause they have not kept to the timings for me.
I can see next week i will call up the hospital and leave a message and tell them not to bother with appointment .
 Good luck with yours.0

Still no reply from the hospital so have called a hospital about 40 miles from me. A real person answered the call ! She said if i had been booked into her hospital the longest i would have waited is 5 weeks !
So called my surgery to get them to refer me but they decided to call the useless hospital and of course no answer so they have faxed to ask them when my appointment is. That was 5 hours ago and no reply from that.
I wait till tomorrow and push to go to the other hospital as that woman said i wouldnt even wait 5 weeks as i have already waited over 9 weeks.
Plus i have no faith in the original hospital at all and even if i had the test and then a punch thing and weeks later got the results the original hospital will have me waiting for weeks if not months for a appointment again.
When its all sorted i am going to complain but the complaint will go no where but i am still going to do it.
So things are looking up as long as i can get referred .0

So update on this never ending problem.
Surgery had faxed the main hospital to ask them when my appointment was and of course they had no reply !
Tried to get appointment at doctors so i can just be referred to Oxford hospital but only appointment is for 12 days time but i can call surgery at 8am to see if i can get appointment monday if someone cancelled.
What a flipping battle that i dont fell like i am winning at the moment.
Oh but the mail i am getting for private health insurance so i am sure someone has sold my home address for health insurance.0

The whole advertising thing and selling details is shocking isn't it?
I have my appt on Monday, feel quite lucky reading all this as they let me pick my own date when I couldn't do the first one! They're lovely at Oxford btw so anyone going there should be taken care of!Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0

vl2588 so you had a colposcopy before the 15th July and so 20th August you are being seen again . Thats a excellent service as results take 5/6 weeks to come back so Oxford has put you in straight away.At least there is a hospital that is running how it should be.
Cant wait to change my hospital to Oxford as well
Anyone else waiting a long time for a colposcopy should call hospitals near them and see what the waiting list is and ask their doctor to go a different hospital
Wish i called Oxford hospital earlier.
Good luck vl2588 but your in good hands at that hospital.0
