The only way to test whether the bladder function is as it should be is for his GP to book an appointment at the urology department of your local hospital. The actual consumption of alcohol is a seperate issue.

Either he wakes up after he has done it OR I wake up, and I am not kidding it's so much, We have a king sized bed, It reaches our pillows and near to the end of my side of the bed. :(.

I always wake up when I need to go to the toilet, I drink 3-4 litres of water daily And I never have wet the bed. Perhaps something is going on? Or could he be dreaming he has been to the toilet but really did it in the toilet?

My Dad used to come into my bedroom to pee in my wardrobe atleast twice a year when he went out for his bday and works doo, Because my bedroom at the time used to be the bathroom. lol

I think there are a few seperate issues here: at the moment they seem wrapped into one:

    1) He is drinking a level of alcohol that could be seen as dangerous for his health in any event. Look up alcohol concern, I think they have a calculator as to how many units drunk.

    2) He is wetting the bed. This could be alcohol related ( ie he is out of it) or a urinary/bladder problem- or both.

    3) He has yellow eyes, in any event it is time for a second opinion on this. It sounds like he feels "vindicated" and can carry on drinking when it may not be the case

    4) Communication between you has broken down. Can you ask him, ( as his wife and best freind) what is is, how he feels, what he thinks? e is obviously too ashamed to bring it up. Without this your on the road to nowhere and I can see your marriage really in the slumps with no way out.

I hope you can work it out, it sounds really bad. When I heard about this woman in my group I just felt so sorry for her. In this case tho her husband was a confirmed alcoholic that used to down bottles of spirits at work and was definately way out of his face when he went to bed. in the end he moved out and wets his own bed night after night and she can have all her lovely belongings and herself, clean.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I'd be getting separate beds until he understood how much this is getting to you. I'd probably ask him really bluntly if he'd like to sleep in your pee all night and see what his response is because he'll probably say no in which case why should you sleep in his.

Does he truly think it's normal for a man to wet the bed that often and not be concerned about it?

If you are going to keep the big bed then instead of mats get the plastic non-crinkly shower curtains you get from pound shops and double or triple wrap your bed. Mattress protector, shower curtain, sheet, shower curtain, sheet, shower curtain and sheet. With your duvet you can get the duvet protectors that don't make the wrinkly noise and you can double bag that - duvet, protector, duvet cover, protector, duvet cover.

He drink on average 28x500mil cans a week. Sometimes more :( Sorry I do not know how many units that would be?

A 500ml can contains around 2.5 units (not strong lager though, which is a lot more). So that's 70 units a week, which is well over 3 times the recommended amount (21 units a week for men). I would say he has a problem. What happens if he doesnt drink - are there any times when this happens?

He doesn't think he is doing anything wrong, cus he is not drunk (so he says) He is defo in denial. Wish he would sleep on sofa, or camp bed I really do, But he won't. :(

And his breath, It' like sleeping next to 100 drunk camels..

LOL you put that brilliantly! Sorry, know its not funny...

I think in that case Id have the camp bed.....actions speak louder than words.

A possible side effect of an overfilled bladder is that during sleep urine could filter back into the kidneys leading to possible kidney damage/failure. Very serious indeed.

Does his breath smell all the time? If so, you need to mention this along with all the other symptoms to a GP.

The amount of quilts/pillows we have gone through is just ridiculous.

Get a waterproof protector for your duvet and pillows, like this:
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1271027/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHome+and+furniture%7C14417894/Trail/searchtext%3EWATERPROOF.htm

If you can't find a king size one then maybe have two single duvets and have protectors on them both?

(And get him to the doctors!)

    Thanks bwl :D

The one I posted the link to is the one I was thinking of initially, I thought the OP mentioned that her husband wet the bed aswell as drinking excessively. I do however remember reading one of the those you have found where someone suggested he sleep in the bath :rotfl:
