Tesco Direct have reduced the price one day after I ordered

Of course not. Why on Earth do people always say this?
Why would a customer lose any sleep over a company with a turnover like Tesco potentially losing out on a fiver? Customers are quite rightly concerned with their own pockets, not the company's.
Seems like a silly thing to say.
Its not silly, its factually correct - people don't do it, but as soon as they see it drop a penny they feel like they are being ripped.
Its the same with you only ever seen complaints about companies, rarely compliments.
The size of the business is of no consequence, wether its Tesco's or a corner shop the same thing happens over and over.0 -
You can just say you don't want it, I ordered a toy for my nephew at Christmas after checking all the on line stores for best deal, the day I was due to collect it I got a mail from Amazon offering it for 30% off so I just cancelled the Tesco Direct one.0

That's human nature I'm afraid. Its not silly, its factually correct - people don't do it, but as soon as they see it drop a penny they feel like they are being ripped.
If a person visits a shop and buys a product for £10 and the next day it is being sold for £8 they feel aggrieved, rightly or wrongly. If they buy it for £10 and the next day it is being sold for £12 they feel they've grabbed a bargain before the increase.
Of course it's silly to suggest that a person would in some way offer a multinational company the difference if a purchase went up by a few pounds the next day.
Customers care about themselves, and rightly so.

I think you need to look around - this happens each and every time threads such as this are started - the point of the comment is you sometimes just have to accept that the price goes up and down, not start 'demanding' (no matter whether you start polite or not - the word didn't need to be used - 'ask' is far more appropriate). Companies don't do it on purpose (much to the consumers misguided belief) its all about supply and demand.
It was bought for £255, if you want to save £5 then cancel and re-order - thats the choice you have to make and the price is the price when you make that decision.0 -
If that's the point of your original response then maybe it would be easier in future to simply say that to the person asking a genuine question rather than wrap the (admittedly good) point up in unnecessary wordplay.I think you need to look around - this happens each and every time threads such as this are started - the point of the comment is you sometimes just have to accept that the price goes up and down...
The 'would you complain if the price went up' comment seems a little obtuse to be honest.
