you dont actually need the ac charger as the usb cable charges the phone whilke its connected to your computer.
so it is a bargain from the apple store. got my 4gb one for £118 the other day, in blue, personalized as well. Got the student discount and then typed in the £8 discount code0 -

Just got the ipod mini (pink) for the daughter today from Lewis. She cant have it until May for her birthday. Well pleased with John Lewis for prompt and polite after sales service. Plus got refund for postage, so in the end it cost £115.

Just wondering:
The mini ipod that can be bought from applestore uses a USB cable to charge the ipod through a computer. As I also want to use the ipod when my computer is not there, e.g on holiday abroad, I was interested in buying an USB power adapter for about £17 on the applestore site, allowing me to charge it through a wall socket. The trouble with this is that in the notes for the adapter it states that I need an iPod Connector to USB cable which costs another £14??!
Can anyone shed any light on this? Seems a bit excessive!
Thanks for your help0 -

If you buy the Power adapter you will need to buy the additional Firewire cable as the standard USB2 that comes with the 6Gb mini will not fit the power adapter. You can only use the USB cable to transfer data or charge the IPOD using the PC's power.
I decided to go for the 4Gb 1st Gen model as you get the adapter and firewire cable with it. Also I've heard that Apple have a patch to make the 1st Gen IPOD run the same software as the 2nd gen version.0 -
I think you might be able to pick up a power charger and firewire cable for around £20 as someone brought the power adapter for £13 and the cable for £7. Saw this on another forum.0

The cable that you currently use to connect your iPod mini to your PC will connect the iPod to the Apple iPod USB Power Adapter (£19 from the Apple store - I assume this is the USB adaptor you are referring to). You don't need any additional cables. The 'iPod Connector to USB cable' that the Apple store is referring to is the one included with the iPod mini.
Fat Boy Slim is a little confused over the different types of power adapters - you need not worry at all about firewire as your USB cable, along with the USB adaptor, is all you will need to to charge your iPod mini.0 -

I was going to a get a blue mini ipod for £115 , now they are saying some crap security reason and send me a mail confirming order cancellation. When I called the Customer Service they are saying they cant find any reason as to why my order was cancelled (wow wat a help). Dont know wat to do now. They have run out of all the mini ipod also.

Jumped into conclusions soo fast. I emailed John Lewis manager and she managed to get an Ipod mini Silver delivered to me from their Brent Cross store for £131.50 including delivery and refunded a sum of £16.50 + £3.50, kweel..so the finally got the stuff for:
£111.50 - £1.50(cash back from https://www.linemypocket.co.uk)
= £110
