at our wedding, almost anything that could go wrong did, hotel we were having afternoon tea at...chef called in sick at 3pm...we got married at 4pm and were supposed to be arriving at hotel at 5pmish!!!(not due at reception til 7pm coz of football:mad:)
Best man called the reception venue and luckily they could scrape it but then our photographer ran over causing a backlog in the venues kitchen:eek:
A few things were forgotten about like Birdie said and that was all after a huge commotion over whether the venue was going to cancel on us last minute due to a last minute change of plans by Setanta Sports(venue was a footie ground!), only found out 1 week before wedding that we were definitely having the recpetion there....maybe thats why I lost so much weight?????:rotfl:

And you know the craziest thing?............I wouldn't change it for the world, it was perfect for us and pretty much sums up events during our whole relationship:D

COMP glad you had an amazing day:cool:

  • Ooh - just remembered one of the annoying things about the day. Because we were taken straight into wedding photos, neither of my parents took a welcome drink straight away assuming that the staff would keep one back for them. Nope. In fact, my mum caught one of the waiting staff drinking one of the welcome drinks herself!

Even if something does go slightly wrong on the day, chances are no one will know!

I agree there! We had a few issues with our caterers, but we were the only ones who realised and it didn't affect the day at all. :)

    Your day sounded fab! :j

aww, I love all the wedding stories! Also love that everyone has bits that went wrong, but loved it more because of them!
We didn't get to taste our welcome drink (sloe gin and bitter lemon YUM!) because all 10L of sloe gin was drunk in 30 mins and we didn't even realise we had missed out on the canapes until about midnight when DH said "didn't we have canapes ordered with the caterers?!" Yup, same as you COMP they'd all been eaten and not one saved for the bride & groom!!
Oh, and like you Birdie-we had a surprise banner made up to put above the bar saying "Mr & Mrs Magicboo welcome you to their wedding celebrations" but forgot and found it the following day. Oh-and the one that still makes me cross-I forgot to give my BM's their presents-necklaces I had picked especially because they suited each girl and her dress  still mad at myself-and my BM's because they thought I had a present for them AND saw the bag of them but didn't like to say anything!! silly girls!!!
Oh! and glad you had a lovely day COMP!

Oh that is annoying Magicboo! Maybe a suggestion for all brides is to write a to-do list for the day so these special touches aren't forgotten in all of the excitement/mad rush!

Best bit about our day (so we're not all focussing on the bits that went wrong!) was after our photos (we got sick of being ordered around on the beach and told the photographer we were DONE! and walked off!:rotfl:) we went to one of the bars on the complex (we got married at an all inclusive resort) and for some reason they had some musicians playing and waiters randomly started going round with sparkling wine and canapes for all the guests there, it was like a little drinks reception for us and everyone was invited! It was brill! Then we went to the beach side restaurant for our meal and got through 10 bottles of champagne (between 17 of us... but more like 14 since a few weren't drinking it!) that'd we'd all got in Duty Free on the way out, it felt so luxurious to have bubbly more or less on tap! :D

Sorry to change the subject, but I went out at lunchtime and saw a woman with a double buggy - one pink one and one blue one! Awww! :)

Me and DH both have twins in our families!

Awww that is cute! That's so sad about the twins in your family Confuzzled, I can understand why you're worried! :(

There are loads of twins on my Dad's side but none on my Mum's so I doubt I'll have them... it'd be quite nice to have a boy and girl though, get it all over and done with in one go! :)

Thanks guys..not really that sad though:o, just a fact for our family! Me & my bro are both the surviving twins(2 seperate pgs) from when Mum was up t'duff with us...we ate the others:eek::eek:
Surviving twins would be ace:D BUT I don't want an odd number of kids:o sooooooo..we'd have to go on to have number 4:eek::D and if it was twins again...we're screwed:rotfl::rotfl:
