Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday, 6th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning everyone,
It is fairly bright here today and forecast is good for people, but not so good for gardens and forest fires. I think we're forecast rain on Sunday. I hope it is sociable, overnight rain, but actually any rain will be very welcome here. Hope we get a good water butt filling amount.
Diner will be freezer forage.
Need to get off to work now.
Hugs to all who need or want them x
Happy Friday, cheers m'dears, Silver x

Morning silvermaid, thanks for starting us today!

Rather grey here, rained a bit last night - hurray!
Did food stocktake yesterday, so tea will be something we've already got, just need to buy spuds, bread & a couple more things. Need to strip our bed, clean bathroom & hoover all upstairs.
Went through my craft stash yesterday, too, did NOT realise how much stuff I have - could open my own shop!
 So, tonight I want to make as many cards as I can, to get in front for birthdays & so on instead of them being last minute jobs.
Right, off for breakfast, can hear babies & DH stirring; have a good morning all, hugs & kisses all round.

Morning everyone,

I was given some pea plants at work yesterday, my friend sowed 2 packets and now has 400 pea plants, she is not quite sure what to do with all of them!

Morning All,
Wet here this morning again, DS2 said yesterday "That's good mum because the plants needed rain, they were really thirsty"
Work for me today as I had yesterday off for the election. Looks like the LDs got walloped yesterday, and the SNP have had huge successes up here, we have got one Green MSP, which I am pleased about - the Green voice deserves to be heard. Its a shame it looks as if AV won't go through because we really need parliamentary and voting reform. OK, the soap box is back under the stairs for another time
I made tablet last night with some of my stash of HM butter, it is a bit softer than I would have liked, it could have done with some more beating I think, but it was almost midnight be the time I got round to it :rotfl: OH is away to work with a pile to share out. Plan for the day is Chilli for dinner, salad for me and sorting out some car boot stuff as I am off with my sister tomorrow to get rid of some more junk.
Have a good day all
