Jupiter - you have been given sound advice from Gothic amongst others. You aren't here to listen or get proper advice, your not willing to take on board anything that isn't what you want to hear. Good luck to you, but i don't think you'll get anywhere.

stick with it jupiter ... you might be able too cut your costs a bit by digging the trench for your direct water supply yourself maybe ; ask the water board how deep they would like the pipe laid ; a builder might also be able too do the work for you .. and lay the pipe cheaper than a plumber ; though you will need the plumber for actual connection purposes too your property; ask them for a specification agenda or list of working specifications for new clean water connections whilst comming off of csp; this will help you get some quote; once the work is done then you will need an appointment with the water board too inspect this work BEFORE the builder back fills and covers the pipe with dirt ; then a date as too when your connection goes live at the actual water main ;which will in most cases have too be done by the water board

Thanks 7e's. I will see how far I can get. Problem is, no neighbour wants me to dig on their property. Problem is I am surrounded by neighbours and their property, so this is my main issue I have. So I cannot have a new water supply pipe without the permission of my neighbours. But I go one step after another and will see how far I can get and hope in the mean time the supply pipes are not bursting.

If non of the neighbours will let you dig on their land then I am not sure what you think the water company will do. There is no reason at all to think that the supply pipe will burst, seeing as it hasn't so far.
This is just after all about low flow and that is something that people are aware of but as has already been said there is nothing your water company will do and there are far bigger problems with the industry.

Any how I am going to give up on this thread now as I and others have given you advice but I am just not sure you are taking any of it to heart.
Keep fighting by all means and I wish you every luck.

There's usually more than one way to skin a cat , and often a concerted effort from an unorthodox direction is what gets things moving not when there is nothing to say a company should sort it out, it is not their problem so why would they do the work for free ?. Clearly things have to change. Good luck from most of us on MSE :money:
I think you will find we all wished her luck, we just told the truth with it.
Water companies are not like gas or electric, you can't swap and they already have their profit set. Very little will change the way they deal with issues.
There are rules and guildlines that are laid down by the government and if they are not breaking them they will do nothing more.
No one has said they don't understand the issues and no one has not tried to help (at least to begin with) but there are certain facts within the water industry that are not going to be changed by a post on MSE or by complaints to MPs, OFWAT etc as those issues are already covered by OFWAT and that was done with government backing..See the problem ? See what we are talking about ?

The whole industry needs to change and only those changes will make things like this clearer and easier to understand and maybe get sorted out.

Sorry Gothicfairy but I really do not think that you get what I am saying. If I read your posts on this thread I rather feel I should give up. If people would give up constantly then nothing would change. For me this forum is not only about what the law or the rules of this company is, it is rather how can you change it or what other possibilities are there. This should not be a back up forum for the water supply companies, what it feels like at the moment, this should be a help for all people in the UK how they actually can make a difference and get help. Yes, the government has to change something but how do you think this will happen, we have to complain about a situation and not giving up. And it is not about that this pipe is working at the moment, it is about that the pipe is rotten and will burst very soon, this has been confirmed not only from one plumber we are friends with it has been confirmed by other plumbers too. So I thought to get the record straight.

Giving up is no answer and yes if enough people would complain about these water companies I believe it would make a difference.

    So long,

If I read your posts on this thread I rather feel I should give up Ermm read all my posts then, I told you how to complain properly and you did not listen, I told you what to quote and you did not listen..I tried to help you. If people would give up constantly then nothing would change. For me this forum is not only about what the law or the rules of this company is, it is rather how can you change it or what other possibilities are there. This should not be a back up forum for the water supply companies, what it feels like at the moment rubbish, you are being told fact and you don't like it, this should be a help for all people in the UK how they actually can make a difference and get help . Yes, the government has to change something but how do you think this will happen over time and with proper arguements that make sense and that are backed by fact and rules and by lots of people, we have to complain about a situation and not giving up I have told you more then once how to complain but you still went through a waste of time with the CCW when it will only end up back with the water company until they have gone through their process.......fact. And it is not about that this pipe is working at the moment, it is about that the pipe is rotten and will burst very soon shame you did not mention that in your first post that was moaning about water pressure., this has been confirmed not only from one plumber we are friends so they have dug up your garden ? with it has been confirmed by other plumbers they have also dug up your garden ? at your cost ?too. So I thought to get the record straight. NO plumber can tell you when pipes will burst and if they are lead pipes they will be replaced by the water company for free and it will not really effect you either way.

Giving up is no answer and yes if enough people would complain about these water companies I believe it would make a difference. You honestly think people have not complained over the years ? STW had to pay out millions 2 years ago due to misleading stats..You are not allow and at the moment it would not matter if every single person in the UK complained..nothing would change. This is the way the companies work and until there is a massive change in government ( doesn't look like that will happen for several years at least) nothing will change.
If you want to complain..fine but at least do it properly, work out what you are wanting and what you are complaining about..So far you are alone and complaining about a lack of pressure..that really does not make the slightest difference to them.
Maybe get your neighbours to agree to your complaints etc but alone you stand no chance.
The water company is NOT going to make your neighbours suffer because of you and you can not get them to agree.
I am sorry you can not see what I am saying and I am sorry that I can not keep to my word about not replying but I am trying to help you believe it or not.

    So long,

I have told you more then once now how to complain and unless you follow the process you (yourself) are wasting your time to begin with.
I really did not want to reply ...again but you are missing what is being said.
It is your time to waste, true but at least waste it properly and follow the process so that you get a proper reply etc.

Can you guys tell me if emails count as official complaints?

I am on a shared supply that has had odd leaks spring up behind the 10 or so terraced cottages for years. I'll not bore you with the details of the saga as its been going on since before 2004!

Over the years Thames Water have sent vaguely threatening letters and visitors trying to get us to sign up to things without knowing what they plan to do or how much it will cost. I wrote and complained in 2004 and it all went quiet and they left me alone, although they didn't respond to my written request for information (nor have they responded to similar requests from neighbours over the years).

There have been a few letters from Thames in between but other neighbours seem to have sorted things out before it got too out of hand.

However its all started again in the last few months so I've emailed, they've emailed back with nothing useful, I've emailed again today. I've told them in the last email that I'll go to OFWAT if they don't pack it in and sort themselves out, however I'm now wondering if I need to send the emails on paper to get them 'counted'?

    Thanks
