Well i think its a bit annoying too bt there isnt muc we can do about it... I mean we buy a number n then chabge ut to the network we wabt it shud b our choice its like paying extra fr tht number
  • Bit of an old thread, I know but I'm having similar problems with my network operator. They gave me the PAC code that I asked for but then told me they would refuse to allow the number to port unless I pay the £2.28 credit owed.

I of course said this was not be a problem, but they then said that minimum top up was £10! Which I was not prepared to pay as I was leaving their network.

I've since sent a letter of complaint to Family mobile, quoting text from the below webpage. I'd like to see them try and refuse to allow my number to port to another network and justify it, then I can follow it further with Ofcom. Either way, I will register a complaint as they are giving out incorrect information to customers.

    Website: ask.ofcom.org.uk/help/telephone/refuse_PAC

I have been with Family mobile for about three years and had a debit card registered, there's no way they can try and say that they need to verify who I am.

What a cowboy mobile outfit, they should stick to furniture and selling 30p ice cream cones.
