Tappers....glad DS got on well at interview:D
BB it is a bit of a grey area as in nursing you are expected to work different shifts...I have 2 fixed days at the mo but it is not written into my contract. At present we are shut weekends but now we are going to be open all the time. I could fight them I suppose but have got to the end of my tether with the place and need to be at home with DS as his needs are becoming more complex...it is just a bit sooner than I thought but cant wait to be honest;)
Ullypool I would be pulling her from school due to them not providing a safe environment and not taking the problem seriously enough...then get her in another school. Hugs for her the poor thing it must be awful
DS def better today and he is going back to school tomorrow;):p0 -
My thoughts exactly. She has lost 2 stone in weight and is looking like a bag of bones. What has really grated on me is the fact that they opposed the move but then allowed her to have authorised time off to view the fingers crossed new school she will be attending.Feels as if they are almost toying with her:mad: Madness, total madness. She is back home now after having been dragged into another incident this lunchtime, she just got her brother to let her out via the 6th form doors and I phoned them when she arrived home.Maybe I should have made her go back but her brother phoned me to say she was in tears which is why he let her go .So now waiting on ANOTHER phonecall from her current year tutor.Part of me just feels like pulling her out from the school and just re entering her back into education via the new school.
How old is your dd, and what year is she in at school ?? If it was my dd and she was not in her final year, I would do exactly what you have said above, my dd was bullied when she first started secondary school, I left it for a little while, then went into the school and saw the head teacher, I told them that my dd would not be back until the bullying had stopped, and if it did not I would contact the LEA, hey presto it stoped. Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs, but your poor dd must be so unhappy, I dont think I would be sending her back.
Also if it is her GCSE year, you could keep her at home till a new place is available, and ask the school to send work back.
Poor little Mite, I do feel for her, give her a big hug from me xxxx0 -
uolypool, hugs for you and your DD, that is probably my biggest fear for my children in the immediate future. I don't understand why the school need to agree the transfer, surely if the LEA have a place at the new school, and she will fit in there, they should be the ones to authorise the transfer. It sounds to me like the schools have too much say in this.
NPM I am sooooo jealous. Not for your reasons obviously, but giving up work sounds like a fabulous change and I wish I could have done it. I am a big fearty cat though.
Tappers, not surprised they loved him, I still listen on the laptop everyday when I am at home and his wee show is great
Not much I want to say, today, but I will leave you with this wee gem that I have already posted on FB. I spoke to an elderly lady today (at work) who was very funny and sweet and arranged an appointment for her for this afternoon (this was around noon). I asked if I could help her with anything else, she paused and thought for a minute and said "No thank you, I expect I shall just take advantage of the lovely weather and go sit in the garden in the sunshine and drink Gin until he arrives!" :rotfl: I have been smiling all day. She was 91.

uolypool hugs to you and your DD x x . Schools need to find ways to stop bullying. It is hard, but they shouldn't bury their heads in the sand. Bullying can be lethal and the school should call in outside agencies if they cannot deal with this problem behaviour.
So glad things went well for Taplad, Taplady. Good for him:)
Just a little OS in between working. I put WM on before going to work, DH pegged it out in his lunch break. I'm about to bring it in now. Making lentil & bacon soup with the leftover bacon water, potatoes and cabbage. BM on so I can take sarnies in tomorrow using home grown salad leaves:)
Just starting dinner - hm freezer Chicken Gorky & wedges.
Cheers m'dears. Not sure if I'll manage to get on tomorrow so hugs to all who want or need, just in case, Silver x
Oh Lou we cross posted. Many hugs for you. You sound stretched to the limit and it sounds like you needed a chilled day. Is there anyone nearby that you can call on for help and a listening ear? You are in my thoughts and prayers xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and reply. After reading what you have wrote and sitting down with my daughter I have decided to pull her from the school with immediate effect. She is coming to the end of year 8 so not at the critical gcse years. The new school are happy to accept her but the school she is currently in have to fill in a form also and they have stated in it that they feel it will be detrimental to her if she was to move.Like the sitution at the moment isnt detrimental to her. So will be making lots of phone calls tomorrow and hoping that I can get her into the new school for Monday. Will have to go uniform shopping on Sat if it goes to plan.Good job the school uniforms and pe kits are supplied by a shop in the town . Will let you all know what happens once spoken to the school in the morning .:)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0

They don't feel it will be detrimental to DD to move schools - it will be detrimental to them to have lost a pupil through bullying, and their unwillingness/inability to do something about it. Good for you. Give her a big kiss from me. xIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Thank you for all the good wishes for my day out with Mooloo. We had a nice day and Mooloo had a very relaxing massage:T:T:T
Hugs to all those who need one especially Uolypool and her DD and Lou. Congratulations to NPM regarding the decision you have made about your job xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
