I was wearing the 3/4 length leggings with an empire line long top last weekend. So incredibly comfortable, but no idea what I actually looked like.

I do not have nice legs like lots of large girls out there - as my mummy used to say if I'd been a race horse they would have shot me a long time ago, cos my ankles are so thick. :p

I loved the fashion for gladiator sandals, where you tie the strap round your ankle... Huge no no for me.

Managed to get this at QS today and hubby said "it doesn't hide your stomach" :rotfl: It's not a MAGIC dress, I replied. It skims it nicely, thank you. Hope the pattern is okay, I'm getting paranoid now.

So glad to hear about the plus size models, not really what we need though...

I really like that - didn't see that in my local store twentyone - will have to look out for it :).

I didn't make it as far as Peacocks, thanks to my lively son, but planning a huge trip one weekend all by myself, to find Inspire and all the other cheap shops. Had a look in Evans, but they are too expensive for me atm.

Go look in Evans and then go on ebay and see if you can find the same cheaper. I often do this with M&S underwear. With regard to the chaffing try wearing either cycle shorts or footless tights under your dresses or if its too warm for that use some Lanacane Gel. Its great, hubby uses it as he has a lot of chaffing and this is the only thing that works for him.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T

this dress is great for holidays, the "waist" lies below bust and flares out showing off your curves but hiding the bits you dont like. for shorter women this is a good length if you find maxis too long and ideal for hotter days on holiday- plus the bonus of being a lighter colour which means you can show of your tan:o

although not shapewear- this swimsuit is a good example of "illusion slimming " if you are lucky to have a larger bust then the focus will be on your top half whilst the bottom and tummy area appears slimmer because of the darker contrast.
it also would look great with linen pants or shorts pulled over!

I totally empathise - I'm slightly smaller than you and about the same weight and everything just makes me feel 'meh' and frumpy at the moment :(

Maxi dresses drown me and I've tried the elasticated waist skirts as a dress but they look silly (on me) with the bra straps showing - and there's no way I could bra-less (unless I tucked them into my knickers :rotfl:)

I do like shorts with leggings and a floaty tee - thats my summerwear :D

there's quite a lot of cheap holiday stuff on the yours website and I think they have got shops in some places. They are good for basics like t-shirts and 3/4 length trousers and also for dressy tops. If you sign up to their email you can get 10% off your first order but be warned, they do email you a lot! (they are on Quidco too)

I like to wear light, A-line skirts, so they don't cling around my flabby bits, with a v neck t-shirt.
Monsoon do some lovely skirts, but they're pretty expensive so I like to keep an eye out for a bargain on ebay.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

And next time you look at the catalogue models, try and work out how someone supposedly a plus size has collar bones sticking out like shelves or how they have two left feet.

They're fake. You will get the same models in standard size catalogues wearing standard sizes and then, in the bigger catalogues, standing awkwardly to try and make it appear that they are bigger. And nobody I know has legs twice the length of their upper body and hands as long as their head, even when they are six foot tall.

Not all airbrushers are as good at their job as Sparrer's late BIL.

    Check this link http://www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/nav/show.action?LpgUid=11297570

It's the picture of the two women in summer dresses - what in heaven's name is the bony hump going across the throat of the one in lilac?

And please tell me how this girl in what I presume is a size 30D bra (which means she is about 25 inches round the ribcage) fits in a catalogue which sells size 14 plus clothes?
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
