Holiday wear for a larger girl
Comments
-
short leggings (dont know what they're called) dont matter what colour they are, they're thin enough to wear under things to stop the chafing, thats what i use. get the ones that come above your knees0

Grr, all the girls in these plus size catalogues are just large, not fat. They have no flab, no extra chins, no dimpled thighs. So bit hard to compare. I do prefer jeans and tshirt weather...:wall:0

I always think this ^^^
I live it cropped trews and tshirts in the summer normally, although this year i am trying to wear long skirts and be a bit more feminine.
Maxi dresses look rubbish on my. I'm 5'11, size 24 with a Hcup breast. The dresses all go out around the boob area and make me look fatter than i am (and then hit me mid calf)!!
The the inner thigh area Evans used to sell little short things but light tights to stop the chaffing. Not seen them for a while thoI'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
I am LOVING these 2 items at the moment.
I wear them with leggings and pumps or wedges (wedges make legs look longer and are imo the most comfortable of heeled shoes). Absolutely wonderful
the 2nd one can be used as a cover up on the beach but i wear mine with a strappy black vest and black leggings..

oh i could go on and on! Lol
Asda also do some wonderful just above the knee dresses for £10, they are a thin jersey fabric. Again, i wear with leggings. will post link to the ones that jumped into my shopping trolley - obviously our tastes maybe complete opposites, but someone else may like them

cant see the one i mean on the website but its the red patterned one on this page - doesnt seem to be online tho. I got a navy one with cream and wear with navy leggings, cream wedges and cream fine knit cardi - i always manage to hide all my flab but not look like i am dressed for winter
Next doa plus range too... upto a 26 i think?? some are pricey, but some nice things .
Saw a wonderful long sleeved, long line chiffon top in evans @ weekend too. Wonderful and cool - looks brill with linen trousers
HTH a little?0 -
I'm not sure what clothes size you are but these are the best linen trousers ever

They have an elasticated / ribbed waistband so the size that you buy will be generous and it is so lovely to not be left with big red grooves in your stomach from too tight waistbands. I got a 16 but reckon I could have squeezed into a 14. They're really cool to wear in summer and you can dress them up or down. I got them in black and stone, but wish I could have afford the navy and white too. I'm keeping my eye on them until they go in the sale....
I also suffer with a huge stomach so I sympathise with you there, hope you have a lovely holidayStart Date: 27/11/2010

My late BiL was a commercial artist, one of his commissions was catalogue layouts. The larger models wear horrible corestry and their pics are airbrushed to the nth degree, Agutka. When they leave the studios it's all hanging out, believe me!0 -
Any ideas for ermmm chafing in the thigh area?
Use Lanacane, Anti-Chafing Gel.
It is wonderful stuff. I used to suffer a lot when I was on holidays abroad but this really does what it says on the tube, relieves and prevents chafingNot Rachmaninov

Thank you.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
Managed to get this at QS today and hubby said "it doesn't hide your stomach" :rotfl: It's not a MAGIC dress, I replied. It skims it nicely, thank you. Hope the pattern is okay, I'm getting paranoid now.
