Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 3rd May 2011. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning folks,
Had a great day yesterday wandering round a craft fair in a great estate. Lots of craft ideas for both DH and me.
Weather was fantastic apart from when the wind gusted and caused dust storms, but that didn't spoil our day. We took a small picnic and some tap water with us - the prices charged for food seemed very steep, although there were hundreds of takers!
Got to get a move on. Need to shower and get ready for work.
Dinner is bacon and cabbage for 6.
Happy Tuesday folks, hugs for those that need or want x
Cheers m'dears, Silver x

Good Morning everyone ,well bright and sunny here in Kent but the trees are still blowing a bit at the bottom of my garden so its inside jobs for me today.I want to get started on the porch repainting today.School run first with DGS then home to get stuck in Hopefully with no distractions at all. What I do after that who knows ,depends on how achy I am after a lot of bending to do the skirting board ect.
Supposed to be craft club this afternoon ,but I'll see how I go with the decorating first.breakfast will be muesli and fruit and lunch some HM soup and yoghurt .Dinner will probably be something fishy from the freezer.NSD today as I want to use up some stores from the freezer.I swear it seems to multipy in there.
Hope everyone has a good day,its nice that all the long week-ends are over for awhile as I like normality to resume.I must keep sayimg to myself its Tuesday as with all these holidays I'm keep forgetting the days. No, not going doolally just too many bank holidays.
Take care all and have a wonderful TUESDAY

Good Morning Silvermaid & all to follow.

Been MIA as been away for the weekend, had a good time but also glad to be home. Spent slightly more than I budgeted for so a frugal week coming up.

Today will be spent mainly in the office though am popping out to Staples at some point for some supplies. I love going to Staples :rotfl:a bit sad but all that stationary :D

Not sure what is for dinner, will definitely be menu planning today, also need some shopping but will best if I do that online.

Hope everyone is ok, (((hugs))) wherever needed.

    Morning all

Silver-sounds like a good day out yesterday.

Up at silly o'clock-4.30 as Dollycat wanted to go out and believe me she has a loud voice. Desperately need to get a catflap! No sleep since then. May need to go to bed when I get home from work about 2.00.

We drove to Weymouth on the spur of the moment yesterday-haven't been for a couple of years. Yes you guessed it -thunder, lightning ,rain.....OH said that's a long way to go for lunch as we dashed into a cafe.

Back to work today that will require some effort!

    Bacon pasta for tea.

    Have a good day all.

Well, back to the grindstone today - DH back to work, DS#2 to college, DS#3 to nursery, me to town to go through council tax credit claim - what joy! :( My night class re-starts, but as I passed my last exam I may not have to go after tonight! :j

Went to Cannon Hall yesterday, lovely & sunny but very windy. Had a picnic, only money we spent was entry to farm & letting kids on bouncy castle.

Tons of washing to do, but fine & dry, if a bit cold, so WM going on soon.

Off to make DH's lunch & wash babies, see you later.

    A xo

    Morning all!

OS stuff didn't really happen yesterday, sigh! Did do the meal plan and go grocery shopping, and stick to list - though this was made easier by not much being available in the little supermarket we visited, then by the time I'd run dd2 and friend to meet pals, eaten and taken dd3 into town to get some bits, my back was hurting and I decided to rest! Did have a nice dinner of sausage and mash though, hard to beat comfort food some days!

So today, OS will involve bottoming the kitchen, rather than a lick and a promise like yesterday! A quick hoover around, then the usual rounds of wm, bm, dw, etc!

Working this afternoon, through till 9pm, so will be leaving dinner at the ready for the kids, fahitas, salad and garlic bread, so nice and easy!

Have a good day all xx

Sunny Glasgow again, I could get used to this ;) Still on holiday here, its an inset day, so me and my boys are at home :) Plan for the day is to go get a new lawnmower, as we had to give DMIL hers back - I have reserved one in Argos which is reduced from 89.99 to 59.99 so quite happy about that. I also fancy a couple of new plants, I would like a standard fuschia, so might go for a mooch and look for one of those. Otherwise its trying to get on with this bedroom, I have been rubbish at sorting it through and it is starting to depress me, now.

Had some terrible news at work last night, one of the girls lost her husband in quite tragic circumstances at the weekend, very sad, and they have a three year old child too, I struggled to get to sleep last night, thinking about her and what she's going through.

Have a good day everyone, and hug your nearest and dearest that bit closer today.
