Double Trouble - Nothing by halves

Well done on the work experience, it does seem like it's working on networking and references. Just wondered about them saying they don't have enough work. Lots of places do have times when they need extra holiday cover or when people are ill due to flu bugs, maternity cover etc., so might offeering temp work help you get back in at least in the short term.
Sorry I missed this before I think we cross posted they are very aware that I am willing to fill in I have done that for them before but with work being down they tend to be able to cope even if one is off and are mindful of keeping costs down the amount that indemnity insurance has gone up for a firm that has never made a claim is scandalous:eek:

I am growing tomatoes in the rescued from the undergrowth greenhouse whether they ripen I am not sure but I can make chutney if all else fails.

My Dad used to bring them in to the house green and put them on the window sills to ripen. I still don't understand how they go from green to red like that!
My other thought was Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe - loved that film:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Hi DT, that work expperience sounds good, it all helps and show syou are willing to get up to date which looks good to future employers.
When we moved into this house 16 years ago it had a lovely garden, but it needed constant pruning etc which we have no interest in or experience at. After many years of neglect and embarassment DH now managed to cut the front lawn before the neighbour (bit of a game as to who cuts first!) and we are putting another bit down to gravel at the front to tidy it all up once we get some money in.
The conifers at the back are gradually going bit by bit, low maintenance and easy style is the way forward for us :T.One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
2015 - my Amazon Gift Certificate mini challenge - saving to buy small household electrical items.

Low maintenance and easy style - I definitely relate to that!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Seriously though I have to say a huge THANK YOU to KC and Skint :T because of you I went out in the garden and spent about four and a half hours weeding just over half of a very large border clearing it of brambles and ivy as well. The brambles won a few skirmishes but I won the warit looks so much better and I will have to finish the other half now so hope for a good day tomorrow today was our first nice day all day for ages
Many thanks to Skint for quoting part of this - I completely missed it when you posted, DT:o:o - and what a victory you were reporting! Wow ... I'm also working hard (hard for me, anyway :rotfl:) on the garden, tho not today, its *still* chucking it, and has been for hours. I'm glad I managed to lift over half the cut grass before the heavens opened.

I love that film as well..might just have to watch it today as it is raining and my tomatoes are green as well..:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Well it continued to rain until after lunch so abandoned any idea of gardening although it has been a nice evening but too much to do to start then. Have visitors tomorrow at 1pm and have to go shopping first so it depends on how long they stay and what the weather is like whether I get a chance tomorrow - but the bit I have done has made me smile today so that is a good thing
and as I see it every time I park the car it gives me a warm feeling - so that is a definite improvement
So it has been a paperwork afternoon and I have applied for 9 jobs not expecting much as I am sure there will be a lot of applicants but it is 9 more jobs than I had applied for yesterday
So I think I have the right to watch Torchwood and have a cappuccino bliss!

Yay! to applying for jobs, at least there are some out there that you feel you can do. There's no harm in trying.
Torchwood - I was a bit wary of watching this series after the 'Children' one, but have quite enjoyed it. But it did make me realise how much I *don't* like the current writers on DW.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
