    Happy Star Wars Day, everyone!:D

Cat4772 welcome to the 10-minute-challenge club.;) I do stuff in 10 or maybe 15 minute stints as a rule, too. Only occasionally do I manage to join in a HHC.:o

We had pink champagne last night, and very nice it was too! Mr LW likes to take any excuse for a celebration - next one I think will be 27th May, which will be 9 years since I moved in with him!:D Yes, for those who are calculating it, I moved in just 24 days after we got together!:rotfl:

I'm considerably better than I was yesterday (early night may have helped;););););)) so I've managed a wee list catch-up, so now feel I can post a progress report.

Monday - Sitting Room and Hallway
    Level One
Open the windows and turn on some music! Window, yes.... music, no!
Dust/polish grubby glass and mirrors and pictures. Done
Declutter the chairs, floor and fireplace Done
    Level Two
Vacuum the floor now it is visible Done by Mr LW:A
Pile all hotspots into one heap and sort through it all.. File/shred as appropriate Done; old paperwork from loft all shredded – 5 binbags full! Everything else filed as appropriate.
Clean and defluff the fire.. arrange for chimneys to be swept if necessary and services! Done with other dusting (it's just a gas fire). Boiler was serviced in March.
    Level Three
Vacuum under any furniture you can.. please don't injure yourselves! Done by Mr LW:A
Wipe sofas and dusty places Done
HHC in the hallway.. sort those coats and shoes and mess!! Clear out handbags and schoolbags! Done by Mr LW :A – he's had all his techie books off the top of the bookcase, thoroughly dusted, and tidied them up (I tend to get books raining on me if I attempt this). No bags, coats or shoes kept in the hall.
    Extras

    1. Freshen up any soft furnishings All been done
    2. Binbag dance... grab a bag fill it and fling it! Done – one black bag, one bag of normal recycling and 5 bags of shreddings!
    3. Check insurance policies/tax/mot etc to see when the renewals are up! All due dates listed in PDA; it's set to squeak at me in good time to renew.
    4. Wipe the woodwork in these areas Done what I can get to
Tuesday ~ Kitchen and Dining room
    Level One
Declutter and mop/vacuum floor Done by Mr LW:A
Clear and wipe work surfaces Done
    Level Two
    Wipe units and large appliances
Give one small appliance a good clean! Done
Wipe out the fridge and get rid of anything gross and slide the stuff that needs using now into your meal plan Done at weekend, before F&V run and Farmers Market
    Level Three
Wipe the table, replace the cloth if needed and dust and deweb! Done
Clean through the cupboard full of food.. what needs using soon? Done very recently; all listed on spreadsheet, and we're careful to use stuff in rotation.

    Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing Done by Mr LW:A
Sort through a cupboard and find 10 things to get rid of! WIP; gradually being done when Mr LW is available to assist
Freshen up any curtains or bedding that needs doing! All been done
    Extras
    1. binbag dance Done within an inch of its life yesterday – nowt left to binbag!
    2. Clean all the upstairs door frames
    3. Clean windows in these rooms
    4. Do half hour clearing of the place you hate doing the most.. Ahem.... that'll be washing up.:( I loathe doing it – I'd sooner clean the loo! And it's all done. Even washed all the bits and pieces of the new FP, took the old one out of the cupboard and put for either disposal or lofting (Mr LW will make the decision), and fitted the new one in the space in the cupboard. Needed a little rearranging, as it's a different shape, but not too difficult. Luckily, we cleaned out that cupboard over the weekend (was deferred from a “clean a cupboard” task on a recent daily list as I needed assistance with it).
Washing has also been done (a load of Mr LW's clothes) so that's out on the line.

Lady L good to see you posting; sorry to hear things aren't as good as you'd have wished. Do you have a moving date? I was thinking to send special safe-and-easy-move vibes on the appropriate day.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Vanilla, it doesn't matter what the PILs think or say, he needs to be in hospital and if it's for a long time, well, so be it. You're his OH, not his nurse and sometimes that means doing what's best, not what other people would like.

    seconded.

wm and dw on dog walked - how to ruin a good walk is not golf, its take a 3 year old:mad:

dd2 sent to her room for dog bothering. dog sent to coventry for dd2 bothering:o

Thankyou Goodintentions, I need the hugs today.

I'll see how the day pans out. Supposed to be going for dinner and drinks with the BFF, though not heard from her yet, so not sure what the plan is. If it ends up being called off then I'll be back on fly form later, got plenty to be getting on with and the therapy of it will do me good I think.

Anyone ever get the feeling that 'the drugs don't work'? (Meds, might I add, nothing sinister!)

Thanks everyone, PIL have been told everything by me and they've took it very well and think he should be in for a long stay too. Even if they had thought different it wouldn't matter because he's in now anyway.

Physio appointment de-cluttered and stroller got (half price in argos), Rhys has been in it already checking it out..:rotfl:, it's part of his birthday present (he's 2 on friday).

LW glad you had a lovely evening.

Right now, where do i start today. Loads to do and loads i want to do. I think too that while hubby is away i'm crack on and get the hall finished and spend a good bit of time sorting the garden. I'm gonna go through a bin bag a day and sort into three piles ebay/rubbish/charity, that way i'll clear the attic and find the summer clothes that are missing. :D

    Todays list
    1) bring in treadmill to bedroom
    2) do online food shop
    3) put Rhys's pram away and put stroller in boot
    4) empty one bin bag
plus do the list for today....
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Pigpen Well done on eventually finding a builder, I think I'd be keeping him locked up somerwhere until he gets the job done.

Hugs/spoons/sticks to all who need or want them

Im not long out of bed  as not sleeping is still playing havoc with my sleep pattern. OH got DD and DS off to school, hung the washing on the line before heading off to work himself. He also rang the Dr to update my sick note as I keep forgetting.

Im going to finnish my coffee before Unloading the dish washer and restacking with breakfast dishers and finnishing todays list. I also need to go shopping at some point as there is very little of the basics left.

    Hi everyone

Been spending far too much time in the garden (growing veggies and weeding!) and not enough time on the house. I keep thinking I can clean on a day when it is raining.... but it hasn't rained for weeks.... :o

So today I have told myself that it can't go on. I MUST do some cleaning today. Have done the essential stuff outside and have also done a fairly big shop at Mr S's this morning already. Came back starving, so I've eaten lunch too...!

I need to put the last few bits away and do some kitchen-y things; then it's off to our bedroom which is [STRIKE]thick with rolls of dust[/STRIKE] ahem... in need of a light clean....

Will rattle around for half an hour starting 11:45: anyone care to join me?

    MissH

Didn't get a lot done on my HHC as I ended up ringing the vets to enquire about getting some Frontline Combo for my two moggies. But it turns out that I have only registered Ollie with them - they have the dogs and see them on a regular basis, but not the cats! Amycat isn't even registered, probably wouldn't be able to get her there anyway without the poor wee thing having a cat panic attack. Anyway upshot is I can't get the Combo for the cats but they directed me to Asda to buy the ordinary Frontline. Thank gods I have the Combo for the dogs, so shall deflea them again done! and then get some Frontline for the cats while I am out later. I hate this time of the year as for some reason these two cats are finding the odd flea while outside, and the border collie seems to find them too... My other two cats and the jack russell didn't even get fleas when they were alive, all I had to do was comb them on a regular basis. Must be a bad year for fleas etc..

Still I have showered, got dressed and actually blow dried my hair, made the bed. Hung the wet washing on the line and folded up the dry washing that I brought indoors. Now on to the washing up and a quick tidy up of the dogs toys in the living room before lunch.

    Meant to wish
LW a Happy anniversary for yesterday honey, but I got sidetracked..oops!!
    Happy Belated Birthday

    Afternoon all

I've done all the bedrooms. I've got two loads of washing out on the line (including bedding) which is almost dry. I've done some shredding and filing. And watched the second part of case sensitive. Oh, and made a tub of coleslaw because the white cabbage that came with the shopping yesterday was huge, we had some for dinner and still loads left even after making coleslaw!

    Hope everyone's OK.

Dashing back in to report on progress in my HHChores -

    I've managed to:
    * Make a whole loaf's worth of sandwiches for the freezer in 3 different flavours
    * Sort the sandwich shelf out and rehome all the stuff that should be elsewhere
    * Bag up food (chicken and fish) for the freezer and label it
    * Take various toiletries up to the bathroom/loo (still emptying the shopping bags!)
    * Put loo cleaner down the loos to be getting on with it

Gosh - is that all.....? :(

Back on with it, then - I'll aim to have a cuppa at 1:00pm before tackling the cleaning proper.
