Wow, some news to wake up to...Osama bin ladan dead...historical weekend indeed.
I'm up and need to get my planning head on, got a lot to organise.
Yeah.. great news.. let's see how many people his successor can kill.. and of course the Americans 'saving the world' because they had no assistance from British troops and no doubt others too.
TBH I don't believe a word .. they claim he is buried already.. but they've said that at least 10 times before!
Gadaffis youngest son has also supposedly been killed in a NATO airstrike..
Chappy came and gave a quote £800 for the gutter and the bay. He seemed very nice.. I said I'd let him know as I was waiting on a couple of other quotes... I'll build myself a spreadsheet and see what we come out at..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Anyone know where my swimming goggles etc are? I really hope I didn't leave them in Dublin
Work stuff packed... jacket, dress, skirt, trousers, 3 tops, 1 cardigan, tights, socks, knickers, bras, 2 pairs of shoes. Now to try and shoehorn in the non-work stuff...
I have a headache already (oh yes... painkillers... need to pack those too...)0 -
YooHoo! (Waves to all and sundry!)
Was MIA for a couple of weeks as I always log out when sharing the laptop and DS was with us for nearly three weeks. Then I forget my password and have to get a new one..and so it goes on!
However, I have been vaguely keeping up so house not too bad just now.
Won't be more than level 1 as I have an essay (sounds like a disease doesn't it? It's due in on Thursday so seriously need to get cracking today. on the other hand the housework has just suddenly become so much more appealing!
Take care all.Resolution:

Morning, everyone,
DD is still MIA, as she was apparently coming back 'this morning' as it was easier for KH that way. Hopefully he has let her sleep in until about 9 but no later or she'll suffer at 6 tomorrow morning when she has to get up for school. I have been up since 6.50am but have been on a bit of a mission over the long weekend, so haven't done much more than drink tea and eat Jamaica Ginger Cake.
Over the weekend, [STRIKE]unencumbered[/STRIKE] unassisted by DD, I have
WM X 9
TD (for dry cleaning sheets with the winter coats - before anyone - Valli - tells me off) X 3
Bedroom
Emptied my bedroom of everything
swept
dusted
vacuumed
cleaned skirting
washed walls
then
moved bed,
wardrobe,
2 chests of drawers
make up mini drawers
tiny filing cabinet
bedside cabinets
To make room look ten times bigger than the original way round
Extended curtain poles slightly as they were a bit short
Regathered and fluffed new curtains so they hand perfectly
made bed up with brand new posh linen
cleaned blankets & throw
chased cat off new bedlinen countless times
fixed lamps
Done 3 bin bags of clothes for the charity shop
Decided to part with 3 handbags (gulp) only 25 to deal with now
put clean clothes in chest of drawers and wardrobe in gap left by charity shop donations
put 5 boxes up in loft
changed loft bulb to energy saving one
Emptied 2 bags and 3 boxes of pointless gibble into binbags
cleaned and moved rug into bedroom
cleaned blanket basket and put clean linen into it
chased cat out of clean linen filled blanket basket where I left it open
cleaned window sills
put plants from houseplant population explosion on bedroom windowsills
recovered beloved cat scuplture in a million pieces from the front path where a gust of wind took it out the window(don't go for dustcatchers ordinarily, but made an exception for this)
purchased large lead crystal vase for £2.50 from charity shop with the intention of putting things like lillies in it in the bedroom (trimming anthers off before I poison the cats/stain the furniture)
Kitchen
Cleaned kitchen from top to bottom
polished sink, cupboard door handles, door furniture and tiles with car wax as I had run out of suitable household sprays
made hob sparkle
cleaned out oven
Landing & Stairs
Vacuumed stairs and decided upon darkish milky coffee colour for landing and stair carpet.
Dusted banisters
Stuck laminate in cupboard under stairs
Made new vacuum cleaner earn its keep
Bathrooms
Bleached both bathrooms to within an inch of their lives
Garden
Rearranged plant pots on patio
planted out camomile, maize
sown sunflowers and runner beans
built mini cold frame out of storage tub, old oven door glass and bits of rotten bookcase
relocated mini greenhouse to spot where it actually sees some sunshine in the morning
found 2 pairs of lily beetles on my snakeshead fritilaries doing naughties  so got involved in my first ever wildlife massacre of the innocents, including much squishing of red eggs.
picked up all abandoned pots
sowed some Japanese Anemones in a pot
Planted up a pot for my lovely neighbour from Jamaica - have done a terracotta pot with scotch bonnet, thyme and cherry tomatoes, in the hope that she will find them useful
Extended the sunny raised flowerbed.
Cleaned the patio
And stuffed my face on curried goat, rice & peas, plantain and dumpling
Salt & pepper squid from the Chinese
Tempura and chicken yakitori from the Japanese
and a fried egg sandwich
as you may be able to guess, I haven't had much time or inclination to cook this weekend!
Jobs for the week:
One hotspot where the coffee table used to be - the only one in the house :j
Clean windows
Mop floors
Clean mirrors
Clean electricals and glass TV unit/hallway unit
Clean leather sofa
Plant up the stuff out the front with some nice summery stuff as the pansies have gone over now - and hate the full sun all day, every day.
A bit of wandering round polishing things
Buying and arranging a silly expensive bunch of flowers I am going to buy myself as a reward for what I have done this weekend.
the rest of the time shall mostly be spent lazing around either dozing in the garden or in my lovely bedroom!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Anyone up for HHC 12-12.30?0
