OMG I don't know whether i'm coming or going!! Ha Ha. Right what you are saying is it's easier to do the cables through the dvd recorder? Will try that later cheers. Is there a SIMPLY way that I can download onto cd-r through the computer so I can watch it on there. I am no longer bothered about copying for my friends!! They can work that out themselves! You know how you download photos it seems soooo easy, is there something like that? I have come to the conclusion I wasn't made to do computers, I make a better child minder!!! They're alot easier! And no i'm not sitting at the pc all day while i'm looking after other peoples kids! Only yesterday!! Best wishes.

Yes, plug the camera in to the AV input of the TV or DVD recorder. Choose the correct AV input channel on the TV or DVD recorder. Voila! Watch or record.

The easiest way to download pics and video to the computer is to simply take the card out of the camera and place it into USB 2.0 card reader(An example: http://www.picstop.co.uk/SD-MMC-Reader/All-in-1-USB-2.0-Card-Reader---Writer ). You can then view the files or burn them on to a CD.

Seeing as you have successfuly downloaded the files directly from the camera, you don't even need the card reader.

Right i'm with you. Now, when I view the footage it comes up in what I think is windows media. There is a list down the left and one of them says copy to cd so I did and it goes ahead. When i take the disc out and stick it back in coral paint shop comes up then blank squares. When i put the curser over the squares it comes up saying what the picture is but won't play like a movie it just stays blank like a photo gone wrong. Is there something obvious i'm not doing? I've used 4 discs so far trying different things and none of them work. When himself comes home i'm getting him to try the recorder way as i'll brobably not manage as we have about 100 wires behind the telly!! By the way if you get hacked off with my questions just ignore me I won't be upset you've probably got more important things to do i'll understand honest!

If you can't view the photos before you burn them to CD, you won't be able to see them after you burn them to CD.

Are you writing about photographs or video?

You appears to be confusing apples with oranges.

Why are you trying to open it with Paint shop, if you say it originally opens in Windows Media Player? (Ah... I see. It may be that there is a mixture of photos and video on the card and Paint Shop opens for the viewing of photograph, but is unable to play the videos. Just close Paint Shop and open Windows Media Player.)

The video you can view with Window Media Player, photographs with Windows Photo viewer.

You may need to 'teach' you computer to open the correct program when you place your CD into the computer.

Normally, when you place a CD in to the drive, Windows XP will ask you what you want to do. You can choose to open those files with Windows Media Player. Tick the box in the bottom left hand corner of the rectangle for the computer to remember this every time.

You can do the same thing for any photograph files.

Right here goes: I can download perfectly fine now (thanks to yourself!) from camera to computer and watch it that way. I can watch this in windows media. I try to put the footage on to cd and it appears to be working. I then take cd out and put back in to watch the cd and it comes up with coral and blank photos instead. If I cancel coral I get booger all just the computer screen. I don't want coral to come up it just does so I will teach it not to now I know how to do that. Basically if coral didn't pop up nothing would. If I have to go into w/media to watch it how do I know thats to do with the cd as when you think about it it's already there in w/media.

Oh no I've just thought..... If I deleted all my footage files on the computer then put the cd in I would still have it eh? Cause when I play the cd through w/media I am thinking its the original footage!!!! But it won't be will it? The information is on the cd so if I had no footage on computer then inserted cd it should come up???!!!!!! Please let me be wrong I feel so thick.......you wouldn't think I PASSED my computing exams!!!!!! Everything is different now though..... my excuse!!!!!! What a complete numpty!

Got it now Donnie it's working absolutely perfect. I disabled coral and I got w/media to come up automatically when that type of disc is inserted. As it is I have about 5 copies of the same thing but at least if I lose one or two i'm ok! Thank you very much for your time you must of been pulling your hair out!! Take care and if I have problems in the future i know where to come!
