Used a £20 voucher today, original spend was £19.xx
Trout wouldn't accept it, she said 'how can you get a voucher for £20 when you've only spent £19.xx? DOUBLE THE DIFFERENCE - I said.
She was having none of it, she closed her till. The people behind me started tutted and scattered away.
Trout marched me over to the customer services desk and called up head office. Head office told her to call a different number - presumably the dept dealing with DTD.
Trout called up second dept - they said they are no longer verifying receipts.
Trout makes an announcement for store manager. Trouts 2 and 3 gather around the receipt. 5 minutes later, the store manager comes up and says 'ofcourse, that's perfectly fine'. Trouts 1, 2 and 3 all look at her like they want to punch her face!
While entering the voucher details, trouts 1, 2 and 3 all discuss (extremely loudly) how this scheme is damaging tesco's profits and tesco need to sort it out asap before they become bankrupt.
Gotta love these trouts. Funny thing is, trout 1 wasn't even your average trout. She was only around 25-30ish in age.

Great story. However "troutism" or to give it its Latin name, "Pisces Tescum", is a genetic complaint which tends to become more pronounced after middle age but it can set in, in extreme cases, shortly after puberty. There is no known cure.

When using my vouchers of late, now ran out, I had terrible problem with cs retaining my receipts. This didn't bother me, (much) but when it ended, I put my foot down and said it was legally mine, they could scribble on it etc but I wanted it back. Had one instance where they called the branch of the original purchase and said they were keeping mine and I had to go fetch a copy. I took my receipt off the trout and told her, if she wanted she could go get it cause the one I had was again, legally mine. With that I left the store. I went in today to use a voucher from the muck up in the sun and was beckoned to cs....the trout just wanted to inform me that I was right and the receipt belonged to the customer and they would no longer be retaining them at Poole fleets bridge!! Walked away with my receipt in tact ready for posting!!! Managed to wobble a few receipts from a trolley that turned out to be till readings. Interesting to know how much 1 till had taken by 3pm!!! 46k if you are interested!!
Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.

mmmm.. tesco silverside joint, the greens and cheddar mash from the meal deal, cauliflower cheese (ready meal style also), and the goose fat potatoes... very yummy and no work required. Very happy, and full, couple here.. Also got a happy brother (he lives next door so always ends up with a plate if theres enough left). Thanks Mr T :D

And that's a store where the manager is under pressure as his store is down 3% year on year. Mazing what you can ear wig on the shop floor
