    :AThanks mad, mag and normandleigh.:A

mag, you were spot on in your PM and not irrelevant at all.

This has made me realise that having a professional relationship with your vet is more important than having (what I wrongly perceived as) a friendship.

I was just stunned by the fact that she said I had not told her about the lump when in fact that was why I went to her initially. My financial situation changed but I always paid (I no longer had pet insurance that was the only difference) and had 3 pets with her at one time all needing and receiving treatment for chronic conditions. I was never given any special concessions, but made sacrifices so they could get the right food/treatments; it was not their fault my ex had left. It wasn't my fault either, but hey...:rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks jefery, we lost our older pooch in 2007 at just over 11, and now this one is 11 but she has been such a comfort to me over the last 5 years, that I can't bear the thought of losing her. It's so hard to lose them. My vet let me down but totally wanted to put all the responsibility on me. I appreciate she can't admit liability (all to do with insurance), but still...

I'm now at a different vet and they are very professional. It's the best way I think.

UM, thank you, :A you are so kind, I'll be OK...just got to get a grip.

your vet sounds as if she's trying to wangle her way out of it, and sadly theres nothing you can do,,they win everytime, I do hope your dog will be ok,I have 3 and they are now my babies, so know how you must be feeling,, have you approched the PDSA they can sometimes help with vets fees.
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.

Morning all (well almost made it) - trying to catch up again after being away visiting family for a few days and then ended up in hospital on a drip with bad food poisoning from a dodgy eating establishment. Lost a lot of weight but can't say I recommend it - although I did want to lose a bit of weight after too many cornettos, magnums etc

Yes, gill, that's exactly what it sounded like and that's what upset me most. An apology would have made all the difference. I hadn't thought of the PDSA, I'm terribly independent, and forget they are there for people in my situation, so I will check. Currently pooch is well, she doesn't know it's cancer and she's not in pain. I rarely cry (I know on here it probably doesn't sound like that! :rotfl:)...but where my pooch is concerned the tears just flow without warning.

I had a really good day yesterday though and that is helping me mood wise.

I'm sorry to have taken up so much time on this thread...

    back to MOC'g!

Had a £40 shop for £13 on Wednesday with DTD and Moc's, the SA said, that's better isn't it?!

Talking about where we keep our coupons, mine are in between a slip of paper in a diary. I am nowhere near as organised as some...I take them out at the till and sort through them then...so if an odd more than one dtd voucher slips through (ahem) I say, oh sorry, I thought I had checked!! It helps to be naturally ditsy!! My brain leaves the building when I enter Tesco. :o

Thanks again for all your support. It truly makes a difference :A

Byatt - you have had a rotten run just lately haven;t you and I'm so sorry to read of your latest problem re your dog. If you feel like persuing it you could try speaking to the Royal college of veterinary surgeons who may look into a complaint. (((hugs))) x

Oh no...poor you, that must have been so painful. (((((((())))))))

No, not the best way to lose weight. You must have been sooooo ill.

edited to add, thanks TS, I had thought of that, but in view of the possible changes to consent form, I don't think I stand a chance.

Thank you for your kind words Byatt - thankfully I now feel a little better although I have been left feeling very weak and tire so easily. Take care x.
