    I would want 2 things..

    1) Them to hire me a car if a free car is not available & Pay for the Hire Car
    2) Some form of extended warranty/service package free of charge from the dealer

I'd just be happy that the dealer let you know and didnt get it fixed and not tell you.

However, I'd ask them to hire a car for you at their cost or tax a car on the forecourt for you to use until yours is fixed.

Thanks everyone. After being told for 3 days there was not a car to let me have, I was called this morning after sending a stroppy email and I have collected a brand new car as a loan. I have said I would like a new car ordered as a replacement, I'm not happy to accept a damaged but repaired new car. It's not a clip on panel like the doors it's a bigger job and I could really do without issues a year or so on with the roof as it's one of those things that the warranty does not cover.

I seriously, seriously doubt that they'll order you a new car. Glad they've finally given you a courtesy though

Martin has asked me to tell you that I'm the Board Guide of the Armed Forces , Praise, Vent & Warning Boards. This means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and I can move and change posts there. However, please do remember, board guides don't read every post.

Why is it that none of the other Board Guides's siggy is this layout?

Having worked in car manufacturing I can tell you that it is not uncommon to rectify damage to new cars even before they leave the factory.

However, if they will give you a new car, all well and good.

Asbo, Perspex is a brand name (from ICI)for Acrylic, much like 'Hoover'. Get it? Don't always believe Wikipedia!

I hope it wasn't an Avantime. From what I recall, if there was ever a fault with the roof, the whole top half had to be removed by cutting it off.

    Isn't that what Asbo wrote?
