I had a thought about the NSD challenge this morning on a walk with the dog and decided that I don't think I'm going to get to 17 this month. I'm going to try really really hard to get today, tomorrow, Tuesday and Wed as NSD then Thurs, Fri and Sat will be spendy days and then try again for NSD for next Sun, Mon and Tues which should bring me in at 15 for May

Not sure why it's been so hard this month to get NSD in? One of those months thats harder for some reason

Anyway that's the plan and I'll see how I get on this week

Sounds like a good plan, and a good attitude as well - I know what you mean about some months being harder than others - I think life just sometimes gets in the way of all our best laid plans.

Thanks Beanie - panic over - the wanderer has returned, filled her face and promptly gone back out again....I think I know how my mum used to feel when I was a teenager now :rotfl:

Got a bit worried as where we lived before she had a habit of getting stuck up trees...no, revise that, she had a habit of getting stuck up the same tree....several times (and we're talking being up there for several days at a time, plus several call outs to tree surgeons) Round here there are quite a few trees but if she did get stuck we wouldn't know where to look - little minx!

Thanks for your good wishes about DS1, very much appreciated.

Talked to him last night, he was still slightly out of it and feeling a bit sorry for himself. They were 4 hours in hospital, in addition to checking his mouth: one badly broken incisor and another chipped tooth as well as a deeply bitten lip; the docs ran an ECG test on him (to try and work out why he fainted in the first place)..but he's fine on that front. He has a history of passing out when he's dehydrated, just one of thise things really. His flat's bathroom is very small, so falling in there, you would hit everything on the way down, especially being 6 foot 1!!! :o

I will ring him again this afternoon...he is at his GF's so that she can look after him today. Tomorrow they will hunt out a local NHS dentist. We have said we would pay, so for him not to worry on that front. He has very good teeth, having only one filling (and all his wisdom teeth), so this has shocked him quite a bit. The tooth bits are sitting in milk in the fridge, not sure if the dentist will want them though!!

At least his next exam isn't until the 15th of June, so he should be feeling much better by then. He is a very studious serious lad, so this upset will really get him down for a bit. Thanks goodness his GF is there, she will look after him well.

I got lots done in the garden yesterday to take my mind off DS ...got quite a bit of weeding done...only a little rain this week, but the weeds are romping away!! Also at last got the wires and canes set up to train my cordon apple trees...they have been in pots for months and really need to get into the ground now. Hope to get that done this afternoon.

Declaring today as NSD no 14, don't have the energy to go to a quilt exhibition today (hadn't bought a ticket), so pottering about the house and garden today instead. Have already made 4 fruit loaves, tidied the kithchen and have the second load of washing on. Also washed out the bird feeders...stopped feeding them a few weeks ago as we had an infestation of rats in the local area (our neighbours caught 17!) So feel the birds deserve some food today. :)

Have a great day everyone...a bit breezy here today, but dry.

Oops, sorry about the long ramble. :o

Glad your DS1 is (more or less) ok Keiss, teeth must be a shock when you damage them as they don't heal like other things. Still, it could have been a lot worse overall (I had a schoolfriend who fainted in her room whilst studying and ended up with her face wedged against a very hot radiator, not nice). I'm not surprised he's feeling a bit sorry for himself, sore mouths are just horrible. Sounds like he's got a lovely GF though who's doing a great job looking after the patient x

Thanks kerri. she is lovely..and 5 years his senior, so a bit more sensible (well, somtimes!).

Glad your cat appeared...our two didn't disappear very often, though the ginger, Jazz did get stuck up the huge weeping willow in our previous garden! It was quite diffucult to get her down...we used verious neighbours' ladders to reach her!!!

Has puss turned up? Mine does that from time to time and I worry sick when he does.........LOL!

Nearly managed a NSD, but there was a charity coffee morning on after church today. I spent £3..........£1 for the tombola and won a C£inique set and £2 donation for coffee and biscs. It was a good cause!
