    Hi folks,

Spendy day for me due to the joy of direct debits!
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

NSD 3 for me today - not sure if tomorrow will be as want to pop in and pick up some spices I've run out of for a curry and also check out some pans for camping if there are any left on offer.

Assigment was submitted on time yesterday and back to FT work today after the lovely long BH break over Easter. Just need to knuckle down to some revision for the exam shortly and also get back to some exercise again after my running injury and I am getting bored now and also expanding rapidly!

Like you, red, I prefer to get the pain over and done with in one fell swoop - it makes me cringe when I see how my bank balance falls from the dizzy heights of affluence (HA!) on payday to "Where the f**** has it all gone?" a few days later. Now I just disregard the balance in the account - on payday I subtract all the direct debits/standing orders due up to the next month's payday, work out my petrol, food and personal spend budget from what's left and take it from there. I also check my account online most days to make sure what comes out is what should be coming out. And when my statement arrives in the post I check it against my accounts book (oh yes, for all I do online banking I still have a big ledger where everything is recorded). It is lovely not having to think about credit card bills - I have no credit cards any more. I have a couple of small savings accounts where little bits are put away now and then, and if an emergency crops up I can usually scrape together enough to last till next payday. And I avidly peruse this site for any moneysaving tips I can pick up.

Going to be cold tonight so cover your plants and lock up your chickens ( or that's what I am going to be doing, anyway).

was going to be a no spend day for me but the kids spilt the milk this morning which meant i had to go to the shop and buy some. Will be a spend day tomorrow as well as i am doing the weekly food shop and need busfare to get down to my mums and the doctors. Doesnt help as my son has broke out in chicken pox today, so def need the bus fare. but at least the prescription will be free!!

Had to get some grocery and pet bits to day, so not a NSD for me. Can't complain though. Spent total of £9.64 thanks to lots of whoopsied salad and veg bits!

    Evening all

Didn't manage a NSD today but I've had a bit of a shock - the sig says it all :D. I've posted on the Roll of Honour thread and started one of my own (sheer excitement it was M'Lud). Suffice to say, my lovely mum gifted me the money to pay the last dregs to MBNA and I am a very happy Wee Pilsbury :j.

However, I'll be back here to post a NSD tomorrow and the next day too - no getting rid of me:D.

While I'm here I'd like to say a huge thanks to everybody - you all inspired me, supported me and gave me a right laugh. It really kept me going through the slog and I couldn't have got there without you (and my mum as well :D)

A planned spending day for me today - it was Slimming Wold weigh in day and hence a spend on the fees and some cereal bars.
Tomorrow (fingers crossed) will be a NSD.
