Back from our lovely cycle round the North West of Scotland, managed 284 miles and got to the North Coast. The weather was great and the scenery stunning. You should have hopped in the Tardis and come with us. I hope you are all well and had a good Easter break and hugs to those that need them :grouphug:
Back to work tomorrow.Motivation to get on with the job hunt.
Night all.

It cost a lot but there are loads of good offers and I'm wondering quite how I'll fit it all in the fridge and freezer
Tomorrow should be a NSD (hopefully)
), so didn't get any at the greengrocers...so now we have no onions to add to the HM burgers :mad: So...either we have them made without...or I break tomorrow's planned NSD to get some...or we have something else for tea tomorrow, so I can get onions on Thursday, when I am spending anyway...decisions, decisions :think::think:

Didn't manage a NSD today but I've had a bit of a shock - the sig says it all. I've posted on the Roll of Honour thread and started one of my own (sheer excitement it was M'Lud). Suffice to say, my lovely mum gifted me the money to pay the last dregs to MBNA and I am a very happy Wee Pilsbury :j.
However, I'll be back here to post a NSD tomorrow and the next day too - no getting rid of me:D.
While I'm here I'd like to say a huge thanks to everybody - you all inspired me, supported me and gave me a right laugh. It really kept me going through the slog and I couldn't have got there without you (and my mum as well)

Good evening all :hello:
Spoony got my 3rd NSD today, thank you x :Asolventsoon wrote: »Hi lovely NSD gang:A
As you can see there is lots of activity on this challenge at the moment and it's difficult sometimes to see how many NSDs you're all declaring on posts.
Could I ask you to highlight your number of NSDs in a colour and in bold so that I can see them easily when I whizz through the posts - red would be best but I don't really mind as long as I can see the numbers easily.
Some helpful suggestions and ideas to follow below from our sponsor and godmother, BigMummaF :ANO SPEND CHALLENGE.
1. Have a good, long think about what YOU want to include in your Spend & Excluded categories.
Some of us count everything from Direct Debits & school expenses, while others do not include things like essential Bills or emergency medical costs. If you plan what is or is not a Spend for you now, it will help you decide on a realistic Target.
2. It is NOT a race!
We all have very different demands on our time & bank balance, so please do not think you have to buy everything on 1st January & make it last till 31st December! A few of us have been following this Challenge for a long...long...LONG time so have developed plans & ploys to help us along the way
3. Most important of all, WE..DO..NOT..FAIL!
Sometimes we can't quite reach our Target, but that is fineEveryone knows how Life will try to trip us up, & that is when you will find us here to help you back on to your feet.
OK, an idea of how some of us do things.
1. What you will or will not include as a 'Spend'.
Some people are doing other Challenges too, & don't include the money spent on those for this one.
Some will try to shop for other bits on the days their direct debits etc go out of their bank accounts; they're the real hard core of the bunch& have been l-o-n-g time Nsders so don't panic
Some won't count those annoying last minute demands from school & collections as you can't plan for them in advance, likewise emergency prescriptions or visits to the vet
Personally speaking & providing I don't buy anything else, I don't count parking for hospital appointments.(..but then I usually do my shopping because I'm already out )
General thoughts on €bay sales is the buyer has paid P&P so no cost to you
2. It takes Time to reach mega-numbers!
The First suggestion is the first, because a bit of planning will work wonders on your road to your Target. Have a look at Solvent's (aka Spoon:rotfl:) first posts each month for a hefty list of other Threads that may be of help. For example, there's a few giving ideas for packed lunches so you can avoid standing in the queue at the bakers for 45mins of your lunch hour! A good incentive to tweak your healthy eating & the pounds you save will show in your bank balance AND your waistline
It helps to have various 'money pots' for the different costs that happen like Scouts, dinner money, yoga, window cleaner etc etc. The idea is you "spend" all that money in one hit by....let's say **putting the week's bus fares into the pretty coffee jar, Jo's tumble tots SIZE=2]Weds mornings[/SIZE in the cracked teapot & Ben's £1 coin for the gym locker SIZE=2]Friday lunch[/SIZE in the pocket of the changing bag, on Tuesdays every week when you've got some change from doing the food shop, so an already spendy day. At least four 'spending days' condensed into one(**mine's jam jars for windows, milkman & a bit towards the bills!)
3. Any day the money stays in your pocket is a bonus!
If you look at it as a day you beat the system, you can't help but :j so don't fret it--ENJOY! If nothing else in here, we do manage find something to make us smile
We have virtual outings to wonderful places that never cost us a bean :rotfl:New York, Edinburgh & Brighton have been a couple & Spoon usually pilots the Tardis but you can use your own transport; my personal favourite has been a sit-on lawn mower borrowed from the cricket clubThe only thing to be aware of is Hubert the donkey who is partial to anything remotely edible but is not yet house-trained
And Remember;
there are no silly questions, so don't be afraid to ask us anything!"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"

Hi lovely gang :A
Eeekkk.. page 14 already, you are a chatty lot this month. Loads of NSDs rolling in though so well done everyone, we’re having a good month so far.:j
A warm welcome to another newbie joining up today, it’s great to have you on board. If you’re not sure about anything please ask, we’re very friendly and there’s usually someone around to help. Feel free to join in with the chat and general nonsense on here, we’re fairly tame (well, most of the time). Good luck with your first NSD challenge - keep posting, that’s the secret to success here.
So a big welcome to:
chrisico - yes, of course you can join in, you’re very welcome. All signed up now, good luck with getting your target. Keep posting, that’s the secret to success and ask away if you want to know anything, we’re a friendly bunch.
Welcome back to the “oldies” and regulars signing up today (you’re an oldie and a regular on your second month, we don’t stand on ceremony here, you’re part of the furniture now):
jaffacakegal - good to have you back again. All signed up now, good luck, you can do it! Well done for your first one nabbed. :j :jI’m continually playing catch up here, lots of very talkative people...
dmb - yes, of course you can join in again, good to have you back again. All signed up now and well done for nabbing your first two, :j:jgreat start
marmiterulesok - welcome back, all signed up now. Sounds as though you’ve had a busy time over the last week, glad you enjoyed it. Good luck with getting to your target.
Lots of NSDs rolling in today, so well done to all the following for their first NSD:
:j:jdetermined new ms - but being ill is no way to get the first one, hope you’re feeling a bit better today? Take care x
:j:jchris81418 - off the starting blocks now, that’s brilliant, woo hoo indeed!
:j:jTixy - great start for you, you can make your target this month, only another 9 to nab now. Yes, page 11 already, it’s certainly speeding along!
:j:jboultdj - woo hoo, off the starting blocks, that’s great!
And well done to all the following for their second NSD:
:j:jthrifty fifty - hope you enjoyed your day off and your NSD was captured
:j:jjinty - will you please put those bloomin’ bagpipes away, I can hear them all the way down in Manchester. Good news about getting ahead at work and hope you enjoyed your later start today
:j:jfenna - great start for you, that’s brilliant, and thanks for sharing the love this morning, hope you’re still in that brilliant mood
honey - there, see I told you we needed to focus on your positive start, no 2 followed on very closely. Yes re the shopping, that was what drove me to spend way to much time in Tatco....
:j:jjnaden - hope work went OK today? Nope, no extra points for saving but you do get a huge pat on the back - will that do?
:j:jangelflower - yep, leaving your purse at home definitely helps
:j:jsf - you’re doing much better this month, fingers crossed
:j:jDiana Prince - great start, you’re nearly half way already, brilliant!
:j:jKerry78 - oh dear, another one poorly, hope you feel better soon. Take care x
:j:jpinkfluffybabe - keep going, you’re doing brilliantly!
:j:jkatholicos - see, you’re back on the NSD trail now, that’s great. Hope you’re OK now after the last few months?
And an even huger (is there such a word?) well done to all the following for their third NSD:
:j:jelfen - hope the packing up went OK and really hope the move helps with your health
:j:jLittleMissHappy - sorry you’re feeling poorly, hope you’re on the mend soon, take care x
:j:jPiggyBankShaker - you can come and clean my kitchen as well if it helps?
:j:jfedupandskint - glad you got the assignment finished on time, hope work wasn’t too bad today
:j:jbeanie - hope the decluttering is going OK and that you’re not quite so cream crackered today
:j:jIf - thanks for the group hug, they’re always welcome. You’re doing brilliantly, no chocolate temptations yesterday or today then?
Hello to:
suzie wong - hope you managed to put all the shopping away - I always think that’s the worst part
kerri - oops, another spendy day, I’ll be after you with BDINI’s paintbrush.....
Nargle - good for you, we all need a treat occasionally - makes perfect sense to me as well
Red - never mind, there are loads more days left in May, you can do it!
mandz1 - oh dear, not a good day. Hope tomorrow is better for you and that your son gets better soon
cats - ooh, more whoopsies, you’re getting as bad (or good) as Cheryl
GeorgieFTB - oh dear, do you feel better after your foot stamping... I know, it’s difficult to keep up with this thread sometimes...
WelshWoofer - fingers indeed crossed for tomorrow
bellkat - low spendy days are much better than high spendy days, so that’s something. Yes, this thread does take on a life of its own sometimes...
Keiss - grrr to the onions, what a pain!!
CatherineMM - oh dear, sorry about the bed, today was definitely an eeeekkkk spending day! Fingers crossed for tomorrow
And as for me, I'm on no 3 as well, spendy day tomorrow though, unfortunately:(
