Lois_E begins a long MFW journey

It's not a proper lunch duty where you have to walk round the whole time looking out for trouble makers. Fortunately, because I'm part-time I only get stuck with that once a term or so. However, they also just want a few volunteer teachers to go and eat a free lunch in the dining room where the kids eat, so there are some extra adults to back up the dinner ladies if necessary, which it usually isn't. It's completely the wrong end of the school campus for me, and it means being half deafened while you eat, but it is a decent-ish cooked lunch without having to pay any money for it.

Spendy day today.

Filled the car with petrol.
Bought school trousers and tracky bottoms for DD at Mr S, along with one or two other bits. Realised I was £6 short of being able to use a £3 off coupon, so got some conditioner and handwash that will keep for ever and not be likely to make us use any more just because there's more about.
Succumbed to the temptation to get myself a double decker but was very restrained and only ate half of it, leaving the other half for another occasion. :A

Well done on managing that - I don't think it would have entered my head to only eat half

I thought eating half a chocolate bar was against the law?

I find it easier with some kinds of chocolate bar than others. Double deckers are one of the ones I find it possible with.

And another thing... DS's ingredients list for food tech this week includes strawberries. I mean, have these people never heard of eating seasonal food in season???

I agree, I dread cookery terms. Its the night before producing of a piece of paper that they say most people have in their cupboard.... er no, definitely not! Then its a speed drive to the really expensive village shop. Also they seem to produce quite a high number of bizarre / wouldnt be eaten in our house in a million years type meals and I have to go "mmmm thats lovely" (bleurgghhhh)
