I have decluttered my living room and moved it all around. Its amazing what you find haha. I have 4 lots of three shelves (in alcoves) and some of them were driving me mad with the 'i'll put that there for now and put it in its proper place later' stuff.

I am in declutter mode too at the moment, very satisfying to clear somewhere (albeit just for a day before stuff sneaks back....).Jan 2013-£140,231.65

Thanks everyone. Nice to know there are others battling clutter and a mortgage simultaneously.
I've got a day with family planned for today, and somebody should be arriving at 9:30, so I'd better go and do a quick tidy round.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Thanks everyone. Yes, a good day was had by all, but it went on until v late so I was v glad only to be getting up for church this morning (at a civilised late morning sort of time) and not school.
I got quite a lot done on Friday, and ended up ready for school tomorrow so haven't needed to do any school work over the weekend, and could enjoy the family thing with a clear conscience.
House not too bad ATM. Still cluttered, but the clutter is reasonably tidy. Thistle, I'm ashamed to say I can relate all too well to your description of the place often looking as though it's been turned over by burglars, but glad I'm not the only one.
This evening I am grateful for
1) family gathering yesterday
2) interesting book lent to me by my dad
3) great sermon at church this morning
4) friend who's offered to help me out with a childcare issue
5) all you lovely contributors to my thread:
Alchemilla, natty, QBW, brummiebabe, Cath, pammy, pink poppy, fothers & Thistle for posting

Did not enjoy waking up this morning - I am not a morning person and the first one of a new term is always hard for me. But it should get easier as I get used to it again.
Still grey and miserable weather here - would love to have some of this sunshine I've seen mentioned on other people's threads, but am looking on the bright side that gloomy weather makes it easier to go back to work.
Urgently need to go to a cashpoint today (have no cash left at all) and haven't updated my spreadsheet for a while - will try to fit that in this evening, but know I will have lots of marking coming in this morning, some of which needs giving back tomorrow. It's that final push before the exam classes go off on exam leave.
Good luck to all teachers/students starting a new term today.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49
