Hi,
I've opened a Lloyds Classic account, but am confused about what cash machines i can use the visa debit card in.
Basically, what I want to know is - can I use it to withdraw cash in any machine that shows the VISA sign?
I need to know cos I'm off on my hols soon and need to be able to draw out cash abroad....
many thanks xx
Yes, Classic Accounth holders can use it in any cash machine where the VISA sign is displayed.
If you have a Cash Account, this is not allowed.0 -
Just for everyones info I have found that Ulsterbank offer a basic bank account with a Solo Debit card - I think they are an offshoot of RBS, and you can open an account online.
If they are RBS anyone know if they are changing from Solo to Visa ?0 -

Yes, you will be able to get a deibt card with the LTSB Cash Account. It only lets you wthdraw money from LTSB machines only.
Barclays also offer a VISA debit card with their 'Cash Card Account'. You can withdraw money from any cash machine. This account is similar to the LTSB Cash Account. Soon Natwest/RBS will offer VISA debit cards with their basic bank accounts. If you like those banks, wait until September.
If I were you, I would go for the Barclays Cash Card Account, as it's better. http://www.personal.barclays.co.uk/BRC1/jsp/brccontrol?task=homefreegroup&value=12866&target=_self&site=pfs0 -

Hi,
I applied for a cash card account back on the 22nd in a branch, just rang Barclays on 0500 007 234, but they say they can't see anything on the system, but this may be because I applied at a branch so I'll have to go back to the branch to check the status of the application. Surely they should still be able to see me on the system no matter how I applied???
Really hope they haven't messed up somewhere, living without a bank account at the moment and this is causing me major stress!0 -

Just thought I'd let anyone else waiting know that they have such a backlog of applications at the moment they are taking up to three weeks to process.0 -

Is there such a thing as 'bank rage' the thing with basic accounts don't think any bank let you open one online, that's mainly for regular accounts. I agree not easy, don't know if you are near a Yorkshire Bank? But their 'Readycash' basic is fine as you also get a fully fledged Maestro Card! But you need an appointment:eek:0 -
You can just open an Easycash account from the Halifax online0
