I would say yes once you have confirmed your identity.
I hope so im guessing someones looked at my application in order for there to be a note on there.
The lad was very friendly. I said to him how long would it take to get my card and pin once ive taken my ID in and he said 7-10 days.
Which kind of suggested theyve already done what they need too and just want too see my ID before they confirm anything.0 -

I went in to apply for a basic account at Yorkshire, and was asked a lot of questions. They asked me if I owned my house, how much my rent was, if I was married, where my spouse was from, where I used to live, how much money I made, where I worked, how long I had my job, how old is the building I am living in, if I would have my salary put in, why I wanted this account (they kept asking more and more about this. I said I wanted the Maestro card, and they said, well other banks have that too), why I didn't want a credit check, what was wrong with my credit, do I have any insurance, do I have any bank accounts elsewhere in the world, do I have any loans, would I be transfering money in and out of the country. I am not used to this kind of stuff because I am from the USA, and they never asked me any of these questions.0

Can anyone confirm for me positively whether or not Co-Op does credit checks for their basic account?0

As long as you state that you only want the Cash Minder Account you should be fine. I sort of get the feeling that Yorkshire may of being trying for a standard account rather than a basicDMP mutual support thread member:3270

Hi there
Only to say that both me and hubby opened a new account with Co op a few days ago, I was surprised they did not ask for ID, even though we taken some with us just in case.
Do you think this was down to the fact that we have been banking with another for a long time, where they do checks etc?
We have been sent the sort code and bank account details in the post today (Tuesday).
Cheers.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
