Youngest hasn't officially left home yet, but he's a basically a part time lodger here and otherwise I'm on my own with my 4 rescue cats. My last dog passed away eighteen months ago, and I won't get another while I'm working full time.
I'm pretty sure the neighbours think of me as the mad cat lady who lives on the corner, but I wouldn't change a thing.0 -
Rather than questioning the way I choose to live my life I'd be questioning why my friends were so very presumptuous as to think they were entitled to pass judgement. On something that was none of their ruddy business. The damned cheek! Keep the pets and chuck those "friends", I say0

Thank you - this was a thread I needed to read today. I don't mind socialising, but I struggle to do it all the time. I am a home bod who likes the company of my cats and OH.
I think I am slowly learning this!0 -

That occurred to me too. If a friend tells you to "get a life" then how good a friend is that person really? I think gettingready is perfectly content and already has a life.0
