M.E.2, did you pay extra for delivery or have the free option?

I noticed aria are doing their own brand 19" 16ms TFT now, £20 less

Don't think so...according to their website the Aria 19" 16ms with DVI is £185 plus VAT and the same Digimate model is £165 plus VAT.

Strangely both the Aria and the Digimate with DVI are cheaper than the equivalent models without DVI. Can't think why that would be.

Paid for next day delivery. Around £5.00 but
the reason was that my son has ordered two on free delivery and he has been able to check mine out before his option to cancel had gone.

I can't decide whether to buy this 19" TFT or a 17" TFT. As it has been stated the resolution is the same - so nothing extra is shown on screen..so is it worth spending the extra for a 19" monitor?

has it been confirmed that the Amazon 19" digimate is the same as the one sold at Aria and that it includes DVI?

Whilst Aria's prices and delivery are excellent the same cannot be said for their after sales service.

A few weeks ago I purchased a laptop from them, it was dead on arrival so I returned it. When I enquired how long it would take for a replacement I was told two weeks as they had to check it out before sending the replacement, eventually it did arrive and they refunded my return costs. I tried to post this on their review item site, it's noo real surprise that it did not appear!
  • I have also found the aria after sales service to be lacking.
I purchased the 1916 DVI screen and paid an extra £15 (+VAT) for their dead pixel check.
Supposedly they hook up the screen before sending it out to ensure you receive a monitor free of dead/stuck pixels**.
Unfortunately, my monitor had 2 dead pixels and the bag it came in hadn't even been opened!!

It took quite a few phone calls and emails to get a result.
The first guy I spoke to, couldn't understand that the dead pixels weren't the reason i was miffed... it was more the fact I had shelled out £18 odd for a service that wasn't supplied!!

They have assured me it was an over-sight, as the dead pixel check had only just been implemented and I was the first to use it.

I too posted a customer comment (which I think finally got their attention)... but surprisingly, it hasn't actually made it onto their website!!

To be honest, if you need after sales support, I think you'll get a better response by posting a customer comment than phoning their support desk.

**For those that dont know, dead pixels are a "phenomenon" which effect TFT screens.
They are pixels which are always white, black, grey, green, blue or red. (kind of stuck in a certain state)
Manufacturers have a set tolerence of dead/stuck pixels.
If you only have one or two it is unlikely to be classed as faulty, and you probably won't get a refund or replacement under warranty until the number of "dead" pixels is over the manufacturers tolerance.
Hence the dead pixel check supplied by aria is quite a good idea.. (if it worked! ;) )
  • Just a quick note on Aria's after sales service... DON'T BUY FROM ARIA IF YOU EXPECT GOOD AFTER SALES SERVICE! :-)

A friend of mine went round and round with them arguing about a faulty hard disk. I can't remember the exact details but it wouldn't work in his PC, he used some diagnostic software to check it out and it was reported as faulty. He sent it back to them and they say that they tested it and it worked fine and so wouldn't give him a refund...

Yes it is DVI and leads supplied.
    No dead pixels on mine.

i live about half a mile from the aria warehouse, so i go buy stuff directly from them, if it's faulty they give full refunds, if it's incompatibleand back within 7 days, they usually just do a credit note.

can't really say fairer than that.

I bought a DVD player off of them. It was slightly faulty in that the disc tray wouldn't open as it was wedged shut because the front panel had been glued on incorrectly.

I had to send it back at my expense - they DO NOT REFUND POSTAGE EVEN IF THEY'RE AT FAULT! How crap is that? Not too much of an issue if you're talking about a memory card but postage on a DVD player is expensive - about £9 if I remember correctly.

The next one they sent was faulty too as the picture was out of focus. I gave up. the postage was making the item more expensive than buying a similar DVD player in the high street. I told them I was unhappy and wanted a refund but they did not want to know - totally disinterested. What could I do? Keep paying postage for faulty goods to be returned?

I would not use them again except in cases of exceptional bargain opportunity!
