I completed a Voluntary Termination of my RCI Financial car loan last October.

    Hire Purchase
RCI Financial £276 per month NOW GONE!!!

I have been within walking distance of work since moving back home with parents although I do incur transport costs when heading in to City Centre but find these broadly similar to parking charges anyway.
Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage :o
  • Well, our Scottish school holidays are coming to an end. It is that time of the year when I head to the shops to buy some new school clothes. I have a couple of suits that I use for parent's evenings etc as my subject does not really lend itself to the wearing of suits. I will need....

5 or 6 short sleeve shirts (Burton/Next/River Island) I have loads of ties so can match up quiet easily.
2 long sleeve shirts. (Usually Next)
    2 or 3 pairs of trousers (Burton/Next)
    Shoes (TK Maxx)

Will do a browse tomorrow and set a budget.

So school starts back tomorrow after a 6 week break... at least we start with two inset days to ease back in gently.

Just spent £4 on sweets in A**A as my contribution to the sweet fund for the meetings over the next two days which I had not really accounted for but it would have been rude to eat other people's sweets and we have three new members of staff (2 probationers or NQTs as England/Wales call them and a compulsory transfer) as three of my colleagues retired in June.

Will be strange not having those colleagues around. The faculty will now be me, the acting Faculty Head and three new people. As things stand at the moment, we could be merged into a larger faculty at any time and we had actually expected that we would have been merged with another faculty by now. Scary times!

  • Bag all packed ready for work tomorrow. I am only walking distance from work now that I am back with my parents but found myself on Arnie Clark website looking at cars earlier. Hmmmm!

  • First day back at school after the summer holiday was always going to be a hard one anyway but today was bad! Our school was being renovated over the holidays.... to cut a long story short they are behind schedule and we were left marooned in the school canteen all day.

We split up into subject areas for the usual meetings but all our important bits and pieces were in our classrooms and the noise of the building work made the day an even bigger farce. The HT decided to let us leave at 2 as everyone was beginning to get frustrated.

Apparently we will have to put our classrooms back together tomorrow as the new carpets/new windows/painting should all be completed by tomorrow.

On the plus side my three new colleagues seem nice, if not a little bewildered at the mess they have found themselves in particularly the probationers (NQTs)

One of our maths teachers (near retirement/union rep) had a stand up face off with the HT about the situation and the fact that we were unlikely to be ready to teach come day 1 on Wednesday. I wish I had that confidence.

Hi just read your diary - I'll be keeping an eye on your progress. How is the moving out fund going?

Thanks, have just over £3500 in the bank at the moment. I have decided to buy rather than rent and think I will start looking when I have my deposit saved (approx £8,000)

  • Sleep pattern all over the place with six week school holidays and to make matters worse I lay sleeping on the couch most of the evening. Feel wide awake now :(
