Did Zumba last night and was adamant I would be good today as going for a Thai tomorrow to celebrate my brothers birthday.......oh dear
. It could have been worse I guess but really could have been better. I think it is supposed to be raining hard tomorrow but if it isn't I might get out for a brisk walk in the morning

i have had an appauling 3 weeks of bingeing due to so many celebrations going on, therefore celebration meals, all at wonderful restuarants where i love the food.
this month is a write off, but as tomorrow i go to my favourite chinese restaurant found so far with two friends i will start on tuesday.
next month my other half and i have decided we will go halves on a cross training machine (far better than running machines, which ruin your back, knees etc not to mention your breasts if you are above a certain size!)
looks like on ebay we could get one for £100 which between us - cheaper than gym membership and if we dont end up using it, we can sell it on
jtr - thai is in gerneal less fattening than chinese, try having the clear soups rather than the currys then order some satay chicken - dont have the sauce, and some rice and mix together for your own lower fat version! (2 tbsp of satay sauce 80 calories but 18% of your daily saturated fat allowance!!!!)IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SO CLEVER, THEN WHY ARE'NT YOU RICH?

That seems a good idea about the cross trainer, I had never really thought about one before, i've always looked at treadmills but they seem quite expensive. Do you think a cross trainer would shift the weight if I used it regularly or would it just tone and improve fitness level? Amazon have one thats around £95 they say it's in the sale but who knows.
I've never fancied the gym as I dont like people watching me and where we live its a tiny town so everyone knows each other also admittingly i'm quite lazy when it comes to fitness.0 -
I bought a cross trainer from eBay ages ago really cheaply and found that a) when I did use it I didn't really notice any benefit and b) I couldn't get myself motivated to use it even though I tried putting it in various places.
I now have a stepper and have the same problem. The only way I get motivated is going to classes at the gym where someone tells me what to do for an hour otherwise I just give up after about 10 minutes! Lol
One of the PE teachers at school has just started doing 'Insanity' work outs for teachers after school. She said you can burn 400 calories in 8 minutes!!!? I might have a go if I'm brave enough!Becoming Mrs L. Aug 2013!

thrifty and mycon
i would always advise on having machines that have preset programmes so that you are encouraged to do a complete session and not reliant on pushing yourself. so in the past i have chosen 30 minute power sessions (or the most gruelling) and even though i have no will power i always ended up completing them even though i wanted to die, as i could see the seconds or the miles countdown till the end.
i have the same issues about gyms, i hate being around other people at really a vunerable state, i feel bad as it is without people seeing what i look like after strenuous excersize.
it depends on howyou use the cross trainer as to the effect you will get, you will always get a toning especially if you get one that has the arm extensions too, however if you use it more to run than to cross train then you will see weight loss due to calories used to perform that activity. the lower instensity the more toning and less calorie use you will get.
even though rowing is a great way to burn calories very quickly i would advise against it as the muscle tone you may build up can seem very manly.
swimming is far better especially if you are very plus sized as the water will support you.
remember all excersize will increase your metabolic rate in general and so long as you dont eat to compensate the calories you will lose weight.
unless you are like me where you build muscle tone very naturally, so i am very careful as to the excersize i do. as i have never been so unfit and yet i havent weighed so little in a very long time.
when my body is toned and got a six pack i weigh around 8 pounds heavier than i do now.
if you need someone to shout at you for an hour and it gets you the results then why fix something that aint broke?:rotfl:IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SO CLEVER, THEN WHY ARE'NT YOU RICH?

Weigh in today and another 1.25lbs gone, really not bad considering the Thai and perhaps a little macdonalds that snuck in on Tuesday
Didn't go to Zumba Tuesday either as running late from flowers appointment so will have to be really good the rest of this week and at the weekend.
Now over 30% to target so very happy with that

I have kinda given up on this weight lost!
Haven't weighed myself properly (On the wii as before) in a while, but have been keeping track on the manual scales and my weight seems relatively constant!
I have been trying to be good again this week and next week - mainly so i am not bloated (Not really trying to lose anything - but if i do its a bonus!)
Smoked Salmon for breakfast, apple for tea break, salad for lunches, and whatever my mum makes me for dinner!Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
