    Hi! Can I join?

Getting married next August and want to lose a total of 28lbs, I have 10lbs left to go and am starting to struggle!

Want to fit in to my wedding dress, which I bought , that is obviously to small! unfortunatley it is a vintage wedding dress, that I love, and there was of course only one size.

Doing an intermittent fast today, but looking to find like minded people and goals :)

    Hi sb, welcome!

I'd recommend you stay away from fasts, they may work short term, but when you eat again your body will store as much as it can so might actually slow your overall weight loss. You've done brilliantly so far though!

    Hi Sb88

You've come to the right place for like minded people! What date in August are you getting married?

I generally weigh in on Friday morning as that's the kind of time when most people on here were doing it when I joined the thread.

I've tried lots of different diet/ fitness plans to lose weight and still trying to find the perfect one! What does your intermittent fasting involve?

    Hi myconosray!

I can do Friday morning! :)

Intermittent fasting is where you spend 2 days a week on a low calorie diet (500 calories for a woman) and eat what you like the rest of the week. There was a documentary about it last night on channel 2, can't remember what it was called, and there's more info about it here> http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2107299/Can-fasting-days-week-stop-dementia-It-sounds-far-fetched-scientists-think-slashing-calories-combat-host-illnesses.html

We get married August 28th next year! and have a TINY wedding dress to fit in to!

Oooo thanks gonna read about it now!

You are so brave getting a smaller dress. But saying that if I had found the perfect one but it had to be that size then I would do the same; I'd also do it if I had more faith in my own will power! 10lbs in a year is very achievable though!

Yay for August brides! Hope the weather is better this time next year!

I didn't have much choice about size, I fell in love with a vintage dress ! Only one size, and I desperatly wanted it.

I have untill november to lose as much weight as possible, and then i go back to the dress fitters, she is going to let the dress out for me, she says there is about 3 inches that can be let out. The waist is 23 inches! ( I found tihs out yesterday) I do not think I will ever have a 23 inch waist so it needs taking out.

I got it January 2011! and started dieting 5 months ago, have lost a total of 18lbs so far! I was a bit stupid getting a dress so small, I've gone from a big size 12, to a big size 8.

I also keep a diet blog ,called diet management, to keep me on track! but needed some communication with people :)

I weigh in on a Wednesday, so probably shouldn't have had pizza tonight, but it smelt so good!

Not got a dress yet, but aiming to go down 2 dress sizes so no idea what to buy.

Right, lost another 2lbs this week, and I'm happy with that. I know this is the 'easy' weight to lose, as it has only recently gone on, and once I get to about 12st it's going to get harder as I have rarely been under that weight in 10 years.

Still, 2lbs a week and I'll be at target in December, which is a lovely thought.

    How are your weeks going?

12st is about my target too - although think i will have have to settle for 12st 7lb, as the wedding is getting too near now to manage to lose that much!

Whenever i started measuring i was over 14st, and had lost a lot even before that,

    I have dropped from a size 18/20 to a 14/16 - so overall I'm happy!
Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.
