How did everyone do over the weekend?
I did the bad thing of stanidng on my own scales rather than the SW ones, but comparing the last weight I showed on those ones, I seem to be down about 5lbs, so fingers crossed the SW ones show around a 4lb loss on Wednesday night.
Out of interst, how have you found dress sizes when losing weight. At the moment I am at the top end of a 16, and aiming to lose 3 stone by the wedding next August. Do you think I might make it to being a 12, or is that a bit unlikely?Saving for wedding 25 August 2013£1,090/£6,000Wedding Diet7lbs lost , 33lbs to go0 -
The dress size thing is a bit weird. I work on the theory that 1stone loss equals one dress size down but that is based upon nothing scientific I'm afraid.
It may be that you loose all your weight uniformly and drop dress sizes accordingly.
With me, I loose weight but not necessarily from the areas that I want to; skinny ankles are of no use to me when wearing a long dress when I have hips that roughly could circumvent the globe.
Wedding dresses also come up small as I've found out!
The best thing you can do is just keep on the healthy eating and exercise regime and then see how you get on.0 -
I think a stone is MEANT to be a dress size, but that also depends on the dress! (my new fave shop is monsoon as I fit an 8!!!) I take it with a pinch of salt, as my hips are still a size bigger than my waist.:T0

This thread has been quiet recently.
I weighed myself on sunday morning - 2lb off (Prob about 3 or 4 weeks since last weigh in - but at lease its off!)
Treated myself to an Indian last night though - so its probably back on already!
First dress fitting 16th August - so its a final push to lose as much as possible.
Exercise wise - Zumba tonight, climbed a mountain (My that a mean walked - as the mountain now has a road up it (the last 50m is the only bit without a road! - its about 500m high just as well!)
Going to try and go swimming on tomorrow night tooWeight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
I weighed in last Thurs night- lost a lb so WAS down to 9st 3. BUT since then have been on holiday, n had cocktails n much puddings (3 for Sunday lunch yesterday!) so have probably put that back on! N have only been swimming once, and had a half hour walk after the lunch!:T0

I managed 3lbs off last week, hoping for something similar this week (preferably 4lbs so I've lost a half stone by the time I go dress shopping on Sunday!).
I'm still walking 4 miles a day to and from the office, which is helping, and have started doing arm exercises every night to try and tone them up a bit, terrified of flabby arms ruining my look on the daySaving for wedding 25 August 2013£1,090/£6,000Wedding Diet7lbs lost , 33lbs to go0 -
Well done Wannabemrs! that's great. I've been terrible lately; the clean and lean detox went really badly - i did lose a couple of pounds but it made me feel so hungry and weak that I fell off the wagon quite spectacularly and think I've probably put on a few now.
Just got a free months gym membership though so I am going to blitz all their classes for the rest of the summer hols and fingers crossed that will get me under 11 stone for dress shopping on the 29th! Very excited as will soon be able to say that I get married in less than a year!!Becoming Mrs L. Aug 2013!

Hope you enjoy the gym myconosray, I found the same with detox diets, would end up stuffing my face. At least on slimming world I can eat, had cinnamon french toast for brekkie on Saturday and a fry up for brunch yesterday
What date in August are you getting married?Saving for wedding 25 August 2013£1,090/£6,000Wedding Diet7lbs lost , 33lbs to go0 -
Thanks - I've been doing zumba at my local one for a while but its so expensive that I can only really afford to go once a week so now for the next month I can go as much as I like!
I've often considered doing slimming world etc but didnt fancy going to meetings etc. Do you have to do that?

Excellent, we are a couple of weeks after you.
You don't have to go to the classes, but I have really found they help me, I just can't do it by myself. I spent the first 6 months of this year telling myself I was following the plan without the classes, only to find myself a stone heavier.
Exercise makes a realy difference, as long as you find something you enjoy. I run, but can only do it if I have something to work towards (last year was the London Marathon lol). I t would be much easier if it were something I loved.Saving for wedding 25 August 2013£1,090/£6,000Wedding Diet7lbs lost , 33lbs to go0
