Wedding Diet Thread....

Hi, rejoining this thread (used to post under another user name but have forgotton log on details).
Wedding isn't until Jan 2013 but figured that if I start the weightloss in motion now then it won't be so horrific later on.
Currently weighing in at 9stone 3lbs which may not sound a lot but I'm only about 5 foot 3 or 4in so don't have a great deal of room for excess baggage!
Am wanting to get down to 8stone 7lbs which is doable but having lost 2 stone already my weight is not shifting as fast as I would like which is pretty annoying.
I've already got my dress (actually have 2 but that's another story) and although it was labelled a size 10 is actually more of an 8 so added pressure there.
Being pretty blase about it at the mo and just figure that if it comes to it I'll go on a mad blitz at the gym about 6 weeks before "I do".
Snacking is my downfall...along with marmite crisps which I just inhale like oxygen...also, out for a carvery tomorrow night, hoo hum.
Hope everyone here is doing ok and the willpower is strong this weekend. One good thing about the rain is that you don't feel the need to have a bbq or long boozy beer garden outings!0 -
Oh my god I have seen my dress and tried it on for the first time (eBay dress) and er it is nowhere near doing up. I have until October to lose the best part of 2 stone I think. Shall I just sew my mouth up now?!?! Aggghhh!!!!0

Whoops. That's pretty much what happened to me. I got my dress as it was an absolute bargain and more importantly had sleeves (pretty topical subject matter on this board at the mo). It was sized at at 10 which I thought was pretty much ok but it's actually more of an 8.
I can almost do it up but it looks awful so need to loose about another 1/2 stone or so (prob a bit more if I'm honest).
Can a dressmaker do anything with yours to make it fit better???? Alternatively carb free is the way to go (not sure that I could stick that for 4 months though).0 -
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was pretty relaxed. Not very good dietwise though as went through all my cook books (I have 43!! Half of which are baking books!) and got inspired lol. I made churros on sat night; they were really yummy
Plus we went out for dinner with FIL yesterday. Oh well, new day today.
Tbh Louby lou I would have to disagree with Skatey Katey; I don't think a card free diet is the way to go. You have around 4 months, that works out at roughly 2lb a week. If you get a sensible eating plan in place (that alllows for treats, as if you don't you will just crave them and eat more) and an exercise plan going it is totally doable.0 -
Hi guys, back at work today...
I had an amazing weekend, we went scuba diving! I'm hoping that will count as excersise, n will be good again all week, so hopefully won't get too much of a shock on Friday morning! :rotfl: goin out for tea tomorrow though, but will try an choose sensibly. Will also be back on my no alcohol during the week rule, as I was on 'holiday' last week I ate/ drank what I wanted. I don't think I was too bad though, I rarely snacked, n had wholesome meals etc.
Back to the gym today though!still want to budge those lbs before my fitting, got 10 weeks, so .5 a week is completely doable!
:T0 -
Glad you enjoyed your time off Jo
0.5 lb a week is definately do-able and realistic. Just stick with it. How is all the planning coming along? Getting there with it?

Yeah, met with the registrars the other day, got the bits approved etc. its coming up really fast, at 16 weeks now! I just really want to drop the last 5lbs for the bikini as well! Need to work on flattening my stomach for that.:T0

Oh how exciting!! I miss all the planning lol. Luckily have been planning my mum's birthday party for the weekend (going to be doing SO much baking Friday evening!!).
You will probably have to do loads of sit ups etc to get a nice flat stomach. Has OH changed seats or not just yet? Once he changes you can sort your honeymoon can't you?0 -
Not yet- love how everyone is rooting for him! He changes in September, but find out in August what seat he will be in next, so can then speak to his new supervisor. Then it will be booked ASAP! Will need to talk to the diving school first though, hopefully they can still fit us in with 6 weeks notice!
My gym programme has a lot of core work- I just tend to only do half of it because it's at the end, so I cut it short to catch the earlier train! :rotfl: need to stick it out, n just wait to get the later one!:T0 -
That's good then. Hopefully you can get a good deal due to the short notice. What seat is he hoping for? I did the last part of my PSC last week and it's always really interesting talking to all the trainees from different firms and seeing what there experience has been like.
That's good then. Yeah either stick it out or move it to earlier in your programme?0
