Heehee I went on my own once but only cos a friend cancelled very last minute, none of my other friends were able to come up on such short notice and it would have been such a waste to pay for the tickets and not use them lol. But I did feel like a looser and wouldn't want to do it again! haha.
Lol I know what you mean Jo. I get the impression you are similar to me in that friends are old school/uni friends and scattered all over. Meeting up becomes a big thing, which is nice in a way, but a shame as you can't just pop round of an evening for a cuppa or bottle of wine.0 -
Yeah, I totally understand that. I am the only person to have moved away from my family, so they all pop round my parent for BBQs/ Chinese etc, n I miss that.
But I just remind myself why I moved away!:T0 -
I know exactly how you feel Jo! I do miss elements of it but not all my friends are local to where we grew up any more either. Plus I grew up in a rubbish village which I have always had enough off at the end of a village. No way I could go back to living there. London is far too exciting! (plus our jobs are here lol)0

I'll go to the theatre with you jo!! lol
I know what you mean about friends. I have ended up living almost in my home town (because I met OH while I was doing my PGCE in Cambridge and living with my parents for ease, and after 2 months he moved to my town to be closer to me - and then we just ended up buying a house here and settling!) I wouldn't change it - it's a lovely area, virtually in the countryside but a really short commute to London, with incredible schools....but it's not the sort of place where there are many young people (too expensive really). All but one of my friends (my best friend and bridesmaid) from school have scattered across the country and it's hard to keep in touch. Uni friends similarly live all over the place. We do meet up and keep in touch but it becomes rarer and rarerI work with some amazing people who I consider really good friends, but they are all older than me with young kids so aren't up for a huge amount of socialising. H2B also works such long hours and is away two weekends a month and that means that free social time we tend to want to spend together.
We should totally do a wedding weight loss meet up! Except I would have to wear 8 black bin bags to hide my lack of weight loss...0 -
Jus a quick one from me... I'll go to the theatre with ou as well.
Same problem re friends as you lot I guess.
Anyway, off home soon. so have a good Bank Holiday weekend everyone.Might be forced to have a glass of wine or two.

What do you do Jo (if you don't mind me asking)?
Have a lovely long weekend everyone! I've had a really nice day mooching around and doing some wedding-related things for the first time in quite a while...yay for the Queen! (we had today off in lieu of the bank holiday on Tuesday, which falls in half term)0 -
Well I would rather not say as I moan about it quite a bit! But let's say I work for the MoJ in some capacity! :rotfl:
Have a good evening/ weekend/ BH all!:T0 -
Hi Guys,
Hope you all had a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend. :T Mine was good perhaps to many of these though  not looking forward to tomorrow nights weigh in.Still had to toast the queen - would be rude not to. :rotfl:
I have rearranged my fitting - now the 12th July. The day before I go to Spain for my Hen Weekend :j.
Am now back at work, whilst OH is at home. Loads to do, but not actually managing to get anything done as loads of loose ends to chase up. Want to go home.0
