I have four kids so I know how hard it can be! I walk when they are all at school/nursery as walking with them is painfully slow. They run around everywhere but the direction I want to go!
Dig Paul out - he may help you remember some fo the more simple things.
My fitness pal is a calorie counting app - It is very useful. It seems to encourage most people to eat about 1200 calories a day, but you can also work out what your base metabolism is - ie the number of calories you use without doing anything and I stick to that because obviously I move around all day. I haven't made amy major weight shift yet - about 8lbs in total, but as long as it is not going up - then I feel I can control it!
May GC - £100 per week
    Week 1 - £120/£100 , Week 2 £110/100:o, Week 3 £110/£100:mad:, Week 4 £50/100Week 5

    DFW - March '13 - c/c £5600, April £4500, May £2500 :T

Lol I have 4 as well, eldest is 16 so she's kind of off on her own but I know what you mean about directions, I dread taking them shopping as guaranteed one of them will throw a paddy and one will get lost.

I do a desk job so am extremely inactive, my fitness pal looks very interesting. It looks very much like the weight watchers tracker.

    Thanks johannalf88 for the welcome

I'm planning on having a wander around the business park where i work at lunch and just eating stuff I can hold in one hand fruit, wraps etc while I'm walking..

    Careful, you can hold a chocolate bar in one hand...or a donut...or a cupcake...or a pastie...or a sausage roll... ;) oh I just made myself hungry!

Oh no don't tempt me, its bad enough that every week at work it's someones birthday, promotion, they bring in Jamaican jerk chicken or we have a food festival where everyone brings in a dish of something. Yesterday they had doughnuts just because it was Monday.

My will power is terrible with all those temptations.

Lentil Dahl for tea tonight I think and looking at my fitness pal I can have a glass of wine as well to wash it down :j

Hi again everyone... I think I may have posted on this thread when I first got engaged two weeks ago but I then happily buried my head back in the sand.

I weighed myself yesterday and eeeeeek it was not pretty :(

So I really want to lose 3 stone. I'm getting married April 2013 but I suppose I need to be fairly close to ideal weight before that, for dress shopping. In theory if I only lost 1 lb a week I could do it by mid December this year...and that allows for hopefully most weeks being a bit more than 1lb, and then some weeks where I don't lose or even gain (I'm thinking of Easter eggs and summer holidays!)

It sounds so simple written down, doesn't it?! I weighed again this morning and have already lost a lb and a half since yesterday...I know it must just be water, but it's nice to see the scales go down at the start anyway.

I have no excuse not to exercise - we have a treadmill at home, a weights bench, and a Wii fit lol. I have got Zumba for the Wii and also something called MyFitnessCoach, which is basically aerobics and is very good.

So I will not be counting calories (I so easily get obsessive and it's not good) but I will be keeping a food diary every day, and aiming at first to exercise for 30 mins 3 times a week (I'm just recovering from a long illness and only back to work part time this week, so if I even manage three times a week over the next few weeks it will be an achievement) and then upping that to more times a week as I build my strength and energy.

I hope to post much more on this thread if you'll have me, as I don't think I can do it on my own!

Oh what a shame you couldn't use the gym Jo. Did you get a feel for it there though? Were they friendly? I have this awful vision that if I were to join a gym they would all be really skinny with super model looks and there would be me in the middle sticking out like a sore thumb with everyone whispering about me :rotfl: good work on the extra passes too :T

hello and welcome (back) to kelbag and daisie :D

daisie 3 stone before next year; in the last year I have lost 3 stone and I haven't even been trying that hard for a lot of it. I have just increased my exercise (by walking to and from work) and made sure I have healthy meals. I try to limit my snacking but that is my downfall.

Yeah, I had been there before though, so know what it is like. It's quite family orientated, so not full of supermodels!

I get to go tomorrow though! :D

Haha that's good then :) I know that in reality it would not (or at least almost certainly not) stick out like a sore thumb if I did go to a gym but the thought of being embarrassed is too big to make me give it a try. I would rather do a dvd at home.

Just had pasta with garlic bread which was yummy :) tempted by the thought of some chocolate but will be good. Had a couple of biscuits earlier so they are my treat for today.
