Arrgh, sorry not been around much ladies, but I am sooo busy. Wedding is in 11 days, work is crazy so no time off, so much to do and I'm having to be so careful with my eating that I'm Hank Marvin. Not that it makes any difference as the swelling has made me bloat like a puffer fish.

Have made a tentative step back into the gym, but focussing on upper body workouts because it still hurts and returned to zumba, couldn't do the jumping though so felt like I didn't really get the workout I needed.

Today I've had some minestrone soup and for breakfast, errm nothing because I forgot to have any. Ooops. No wonder I'm hungry.

Rups try not to worry about your oh going out with his friend (i'd be totally jealous too), and well done on the PT sessions.

Ms Drink, well done on the run. I'm jealous. I miss running.

apologies for the spelling and weird layout. my phone is adding random characters and refusing to let me change them.

Ooh Mrs Drink, my virtual running buddy bride! I'm preparing for the Great North Run at the moment and trying to embrace a much healthier lifestyle for the next 3 weeks at least to get in best shape for it (after that it'll go to pot!). No booze, cigs or biscuits until 19 September!
Your food diary was interesting, are you letting yourself have a carb & protein snack after your run? Someone once told me that a banana after every run makes the next run easier, not sure how accurate that is but it's stuck in my head. 4km isn't bad at all for the first time on your feet for a month, it'll be far easier next time you go out, just keep stretching and stop when it stops being fun. Good luck with it!

Aww thank you!! At my best I was running 5K in just under 30 mins. Have signed us (MrD and I) up to the Lincoln 10K in March. (I have managed a 10K slow jog once! lol). But to do the Great North Run - you are barmy!

I'm not eating anything special after a jog - I do tend to do it just before a meal time/snack time though - so when I'm back at school I tend to go for a run as soon as I get in from work, then have my snack. When I do serious running (like doing the Race For Life) I do have a banana afterwards - it's the only time I can eat them cause the texture is foul, but after a run in the sun (aka Race For Life) I have one :) I'm thinking of pounding the streets again on Friday.

    Good luck with your run!!
(I do love running - I have a route down by my local canal and it's just lovely the number of people that you pass and smile to. And I love the feeling of getting back knowing how well I've run and feeling a huge sense of achievement and pride that 3 years ago I was far too fat to run and how much my fitness has improved. Lol and I'm a total geek - I love seeing my graphs on Nike +).

Good morning everyone. Today's planned menu:
    Breakfast - branflakes and wheatbix.
Lunch - mexican style chicken & bag of salad with a drizzle of no fat vinaigrette dressing.
Tea - grilled mackerel served with various roast veggies.
Snacks - yoghurt, scotch pancake, and a hotel chocolat truffle.
Exercise - Body Balance class - really looking forward to this - love the feeling of my muscles being stretched to their limit lol.
