Absolutely well said Flossy - my thoughts precisely!! :)

Good morning ladies. Well today is the start of looking after my body and not putting crap inside it. I have weighed myself - and as I thought I have around a stone to lose before I'm back to my ideal... but more importantly my fitness has taken a right dive recently. About to go have breakfast (36g of branflakes, 1 wheatabix, 25g dried fruit, 200ml of semi-skimmed milk). Lunch will be 100g of sliced chicken, half a bag of salad, and a teaspoon of french dressing. Tea will be 170g of chicken and 2 slices of prosciutto, served with various veggies bunged in a tray with a teaspoon of oil and roasted. Snacks are a full fat cherry yoghurt, a scotch pancake (both of these will be eaten around mid-afternoon), and a hotel chocolat truffle before I go to bed. I will go for a small run later this afternoon/early evening - will come back and let you all know exactly how horrid that is.

My motivation: In 7 weeks 4 days time I'm going to Tenerife to compete a PADI Open Water Scuba Diving course. I want to be as fit and healthy as I can for this. I won't weigh myself again until the day we fly out. :)

PS I won't tell you all my food every day cause I'm sure you'll get bored of it - but I will come and report my exercising.

    Morning All. :)

Thank for that Floss and ms..

wow scuba course hey? wow! i couldnt do it. it scares me :(

its so true about not losing weight and wondering why you are not losing weight. i think thats my reason. I dont eat too badly during the week (at weekends i go mad), but i def think my food size is big hence the calories. i am good with my 2 Litres of water everyday though and dont even drink that much squash (rarely). so true though.

aching from my session yest, :( and am tired. got a bit mad at OH yest and we nearly called off the wedding :( i was so upset.. teh cause of this was just hi telling me that he was giong for a drink and dinner with this girl he knows from work and i have met her twice.i just got so insecure so the stuff that came out of me was full of jealousy and insecurity. how do you ladies deal with that? help please? am i silly to worry about it? i trust him fully but its just me and my issues. grrrr
    help.. xxx

I did a try dive in Rhodes last year - and I loved it - it was so peaceful being under the water. Absolutely cannot wait to go in October and become certified. We're doing a diving holiday in the red sea as our honeymoon (hopefully - assuming we pass the certificate in October!) This is me:

I have just been for a little jog - although it was bloody tough - I managed to run the whole thing and not walk any of it (bearing in mind I haven't done any running since 27th July, and have hardly done any other exercise either), so while my fitness has definitely taken a battering it's by no means back to square one. I managed a (pathetic short distance of) 3.96km in 23m58s. (Normally I'd share you my nike+ link but it hasn't shared it on FB so I don't know how to share just the one run with you all). I started out at my old pace and soon ran into difficulty (lol) - I was really struggling with my breathing. Normally I run two strides to each inhalation and two strides to each exhalation, but I was just running out of breath. So I slowed my pace right down and got into a rhythm. I think from today's run from 2.5km to 3.5km was the hardest - the muscles around my hips/upper thighs really started to tell me they were working. And there is a little bit of a hill up through a village which was really tough - I was probably as slow up there as I was when I first started running - certainly not my usual standard. Oh and the good news is since getting my trainers in January 2010 I have just completed my 250th kilometer and have turned 'green' in Nike+ :D

Right I think it's time for my lunch :)

I really want to try scuba! Looked into it but it is soo expensive! We are going to wait until march and then book a starter course or something I think. We really want to go on our honeymoon, but don't want it to be the first time we have tried it, we want to be able to enjoy it!

Well done on the jog MrsDrink!

That is precisely why we're going to Tenerife in October half term. So we can get certified so when we go on our Honeymoon we aren't having to waste 3 days learning the basics :) I would ideally like to do a liveaboard (where you stay on a boat instead of in a hotel) and dive off there for the week, but we won't be experience enough for that so I've said we'll do that for one of our big anniversaries instead.

Rups - try rotating what muscles you're using when you go to the gym. It is supposed to give those that you've worked time to heal and strengthen/lengthen before you give them another hammering.

Johanna - we've done the e-learning open water diving course and are using Amarilla Divers Tenerife for the practical stuff. :) Cannot wait!!
