Ok, a bit more to add to my saga.

Rung today, and got back to my advisor Sara on 0800 number - at least now its not costing me to ring, and I don't have to go through story all over again.
They must keep the meter changing in house, as she had to ring the meter team to find out what they are doing next.
I had to give them my figures, and got agreement that "yes you are correct meter is out". Meter team want to leave the meter in until the check meter reaches 300 (its currently at 155.28) to get a proper average of my useage. So my reckoning that will be about another 3 weeks if this weather keeps up. Even longer if we clear off for a few weeks, and leave my daughter here - as we did last year. She turns everything off, apart from what she is using!!

When Sara spoke to the meter team, they told her that they had not come across this before - neither had she. I let her know that other Electricity suppliers do know about it.
I have also said again that I want the meter checking to see if it is running fast - asked if it would be OffGen? checking - said no, there meter team check it - seems like they keep everything to themselves.
I must remember to ask if it is actually SSE's own meter team (just to make sure) edit (they do have their own team, but also sometimes use out of house - I have suggested that they speak to the out of house team to see if they know about it - Sara is going to find out who they are - I slipped up because PaulReed had said it was Meter Plus who changed his meter, but I couldn't find it quick enough to tell her- another note to myself - must tell the Manager when they ring.

I'm waiting for her to ring me back after she has spoken to micro generation team so will add to this post when she has done so.

Sara rang back as I was typing

Meter team agree problem with meter & solar panels
Micro Generation Team "no its not, its because the meter's faulty" what I'm telling them can't happen :wall: & has the Generation Meter been checked aggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh. :wall: The Generation Meter is working perfectly - readings are as predicted. I might suggest that some of the blinkered micro generation team get down here when its a sunny day & see for themselves!!!!!!

One step on though, at least now its acknowledged there is a problem.

Upshot is Sara passing on to ther manager who hopefully can kick a***.
I've passed this thread on to her, so hopefully it will get passed on to her manager & they will read it - judging by past performance the attitude is "stupid woman, doesn't know what she is talking about"
How wrong they are.:D
It is so difficult to keep cool on the phone, after having to repeat myself 10 times to get understood - when will they have a "lightbulb" moment.

:wall: :wall: :wall:

Atlantic Manager, who Sara passed this saga on to, didn't get back to me - I did pass on this thread for her to read, so I hope she does - and wait until Tuesday then I will be back on to them again - if they haven't rung me!.

Didn't think it could get any worse

Used today from 7.30 am to 9 pm (I used my dishwasher, washer for 2 loads, & dried them in tumble dryer as panels were producing 3000 w) If I hadn't used them, old meter would have clocked on quite a bit more.

on

check meter 1.3 KW :)
old meter used 20 KW
generated 26 KW
:D

I'll have a go at that later.

Just shows how journalist licence can take stuff out of context, and make it sound totally different to what was actually said/posted)

All of the people who have posted on here have been very helpful, & supportive - I've probably bored them all to bits, as I have my family, and anyone else who would listen, but this has been my way of keeping a record of my thoughts on what is happening.

Hopefully it will make people who have, or are getting solar panels, these Siemens meters can add on electric. I have had messages from a couple of people that to say thanks. Also someone has passed it on to Eastbourne Council who are thinking of putting free panels on for people.
I personally think that anyone with free panels is very vulnerable to this especially if the weather turns dull.

The micro generation team at Atlantic Gas & Electricity still didn't, until yesterday, believe what I know is fact - they need their blinkers taking off, and stop being so b..... arrogant. Hopefully someone will point them in the way of this thread.

Yeah right! :D Thanks for your thoughts. I really like it. :D
• again thank you fundire - am still following this threqad with teh hope you (and the others both posters and silent ones) get the situation sorted out properly!

and yes i told eastbourne council - they will now be fitting panels to the bulk of the 4700 odd homes they have , and will also now be fitting an export meter from day 1 - AND do a follow up check post instalation a month afterwards to ensure its working as intended

all thanks to this thread!

Thanks for that HalloweenJack - I'll get there in the end - I will have had the panels in 1 year in about 2 weeks. (& thanks to Nang, I have the data of the KW generated the couple of months I was away. http://www.uksolarcasestudy.co.uk)

Just had a 4 days away - my daughter used about 11.4 KW (averaging just under 3 KW per day) on Check Meter - Old meter said she'd used 56 KW generated 60 KW. Last year we were out of the country for 8 weeks!!

While we were away, someone rang to ask about changing the meter - my daughter told them I was away, so they would have to sort out when we get back -
this was after them saying that we had to wait until the check meter reads 300 -
now this makes me think that someone has read this thread, and took note of my comment that in post #192 when I said it could take a while if we clear off for a few weeks.

Just a small update - they are coming to take out old meter on 5th July, and leave me with the check meter which (as far as I know) cannot export electricity.
"They" in their wisdom have decided that my meter is running fast. I did make sure that they once again know that we have solar panels, so was it that straight forward, - to which I got the reply - the meter is running fast.
So I then said if that is the case, and its not the solar panels, "this meter has been here for 10 years (actually 11)" so if that is the case ........
At that point I gave up, and decided I wouldn't try and explain how to do their job - 10 years rebate will suit fine!!! It was left with the guy on the phone saying it will take a couple of weeks to work out what they will be repaying me (I bet it will). (10 years?? 1 year???? 10 years?? 1 year????) I must remember patience is a virtue. (One thing in my favour I have rung many times re how much electric we were using - even before we had the panels on)

But Dunloadin put it pretty well in #97.

For anyone interested these are the figures for 43 days.
check meter old meter gen meter

1:30 daily 8.00 93492 2945.00
257.77 94122 3588

249.77 630 643 difference
over 43 Days
5.81 14.65 14.95
average useage per day KWH

and just another little add - I said I thought you would be fitting an export meter - "no, I'll get the generation team to ring you" & that didn't happen.

Our best daylight hour useage 0.98 KW used from 8.30 am to 9 pm
