    Thanks for the chart link annie. Fleece at the ready again as I have planted cucs. No frost for me, just colder. I wish it would rain, we had a tiny sprinkle last night but not enough to wet anything. The farmers here are looking quite worried

    Thanks Annie, most useful to me.

    I was told recently with potatoes that if you get up before the sun reaches them and wash the frost off them then they suffer no damage. Apparently according to this old chap who has been growing for donkeys years its the effect of the sun on the frost that does the damage.

    Have no idea if it works or not, but if we get frost (none yet) then I may try it - everyone thinks I am a bit weird already so may as well add fuel to the fire lol!

    It would be easier just to earth them up to cover them and avoid getting the frost on them?

    I'm not a morning person though so getting up to remove frost isn't going to happen :D

    No frost here, lows of 5C next week, I can cope with that

    Me too. Good site that, thanks. :D
    If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

    More cold nights expected next week, even here in london, lows of around 2-3c,
    check your ground temperature here:
    http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=frost;
    I've been watching it, we're down to 0.5c on Wednesday according to netweather.
    While Metcheck has us down to 3c on Tuesday, 4c Monday.

    Whatever, both nights are forecast clear without too much wind, so it's going to be cold. And as regular readers must already now, I always get it colder than the forecasts.

    I would think I'll be using my candle/terracotta pot heater in the GH for the toms that are planted in the soil and moving the rest into the shed for the nights.

    been out in the garden this morning and caught a neighbour planting out her cucumbers and peppers!
    advised her that it was too early for them to be out and that there will be some cold nights this coming week. Reply was 'my friend has already planted hers out and said it was fine for me to do the same; where does this friend live? Southern Italy.......you just can't help some people.

    Potatoes are going to be interesting, because they're huge with all this warm weather.

    Well, that's just like England. Isn't it? :rotfl:
