I used to have one of these from Pampered Chef - it was really nice, but honestly I only used it a couple times and then sold it in a carboot sale ages ago.

  • Lidl have these in at the moment - I saw them when I was in. Can't remember the price about £5 though, cos I did think about buying one.

    It's only a game

i have one and would love to be able to use it
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • I had one but found it too fiddly to use and you have to keep cleaning it between uses so if you have a lot of biscuits to make it is too time consuming.
I now use a pastry bag and nozzles - so much easier
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I got one from Lidl a few weeks ago, but not had a chance to use it yet. Still got things to make and do!

I would like to do a lot of baking as gifts for relatives this Christmas - I was thinking a cookie press gun thingy might make them look a bit nicer and possibly help me go a bit quicker to get a batch of cookies done.

Has anyone ever used one - and if so what kind and what was your experience? I saw a Pampered Chef lady use one once and it looked great, but I don't want to waste money on something if it doesn't make things easier and won't get used.

Thanks for any help - I did do a search but couldn't find any answers!

LIDL are doing them for 7.99 at the mo. Look reasonable quality unlike TULA crap! (my view) as a bonus you also get the icing nozle and attachments as well as the cookie ones.... Kids love these - Beats play dough as they get eat their creations :)

For those of you who have successfully managed to use your cookie gun - what type of baking tray do you use?

I bought one ages ago and never really got the hang of it, so it's languished in a cupboard and I just dug it out to have another go. The problem I'm having is that I can't get the dough to stick to the baking tray, it just sits there at the end of the gun after you click the trigger. I've read that you need to use a tray that ISN'T non-stick, but all of mine are non-stick.

Anyone have any tips or ideas what I could try? Currently I've got a couple of baking trays in the freezer to see if that helps.

I have successfully used mine once after I found a recipe in a cookbook from 1954 that my boyfriends mum gave me.

I found with mine i had to put the gun directly onto the tray (i used a normal baking tray with greaseproof paper on it) press the trigger and then pull it up directly. The biscuit mixture needs to be kept cool and its harder to work with when it warms up too much.
