LIDL are doing them for 7.99 at the mo. Look reasonable quality unlike TULA crap! (my view) as a bonus you also get the icing nozle and attachments as well as the cookie ones.... Kids love these - Beats play dough as they get eat their creations :)

Doh wish i hadn't seen this thread, Lidl have loads of good baking cooking stuff on thurs which is OH's pay day..........
Love the look of the chocolate moulds as well as the cookie/icing gun, loads of lovely bakeware and my nemisis cookie cutters!!! Please tell me not to buy any more cutters I aready have a box full-still I am in good company as Nigella is another cookie cutter collector rofl.

Just trying to justify as in laws and my parents have said not to spend on them at christmas could i justify the cookie gun and the chocolate moulds to make some cheap but tasty homemade treats for all their crimbo pressies-not to mention the contributions to the various christmas fairs.

Could also send some to aunties and uncles to cover their crimbos as well plus my sister-if the kids help the oldies will love these even more :).

BUT is it MSE to spend say a cheeky £20 on myself to be able to make loads of cheapy/nice gifts over the next few years ;).

When I Googled cookie press it came up with this type of thing.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Biscuit-Press-Maker-Blades-Nozzles/dp/B003QI05XK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1318780154&sr=8-4

Are you sure the poundland things aren't just wee cookie moulds?

I know it is an old thread but it always comes up in a google search when I am looking for other biscuit press recipes.

I have my own recipe for the biscuit press which works pretty well. I have just made a batch of ginger ones just now and considering I haven't used the press since last year I am glad the recipe still works.

    Biscuit Press

    Ingredients

    175g Butter/Margarine
    175g Sugar
    1 Egg
    125g Self Raising Flour
    175g Plain Flour

    Method

Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4/180
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy
    Mix in the egg
    Add in the flour
Put the mixture into the biscuit press.
Choose what style of biscuit you would like to make
Click a few times until the mixture starts to come out and then scrape off the excess
Press the machine flat to a baking tray click once and lift up the machine
The first time may leave a mess on the tray but after a couple of times it should leave a perfectly formed biscuit shape.
Put in the oven for 10-12 minutes
Remove from the oven and immediately scrape the biscuit off the tray usinf a palette knife
Remove from the tray and leave on a wire rack to cool.

    Other variants

    Chocolate
Replace 50g of plain flour for Cocoa Powder.

    Ginger
Add the following spices to the flour:
    2 tsp cinnamon powder
    1 tsp ground ginger
    ½ tsp groung cloves
Replace the sugar with muscavado sugar. Ensure the sugar has been sifted to remove any lumps as this will affect the biscuit press.
