    hi Atpug
    Until Alfonso replies
Just looked at ur scans are you using xp 64 bit ?

can you search your pc for the file csgll.exe as mentioned on the line \\System = csgll.exe in post #41 seems strange, just post the location - thanks.

  • Hi atpug, my apologies. I've had some technical difficulties with my modem over the weekend. :wall:

GreenNotm has correctly identified a file which may or may not still be present. Please run a search for this file using Windows Explorer and delete it if found.

    Close all browsers.
Click Start > Run then type cmd and click ok.
    type:
    ipconfig /release
    press enter, type
    ipconfig /renew
    press enter, type
    ipconfig /flushdns
    press enter, type
    ipconfig /registerdns
    press enter

Then open Notepad, (Start | Run, type notepad)
Copy the "quoted" text below to Notepad (starting with REGEDIT4)
    Click File | Save As
Change the Save as type to *All Files*
Save it to your desktop as fix.reg
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
    "system"=""

Double click fix.reg and confirm you wish to add the contents to the registry.

Restart the machine and right-click GMER.exe. Select "Rename" and rename it to atpug.exe.

Please then try running the renamed tool again.

When done, post a fresh HijackThis log and GMER log please.

Right here is update via the steps you guys recommend:

    1. I searched for the file csgll.exe in all folders inc. hidden and caps not sensitive options ticked - Nothing found.

    2. i did all teh ipconfig operations in cmd mode.

    3. i added the regedit4.

    4. i renamed gmer.exe file to atpug.exe. When i tried to run the programme i got the same error message and bluse screen as before (after a few mins into the scan). Thus i dont have any logfile.

    5. Hijack this results as below:

    Hi Atpug

Don't want to step on Alfonso - but can you run a complete " Generate startup list" from hijack this - under misc tools under config. And post the log here.

have you looked in zone alarm >> programme control - what programmes have a green tick - is security set as high as you can - the free version does only allows medium, sometimes.

Can you check in IE >> tools>> internet options>> security tab>> click Trusted sites >> sites .. what sites have you here if any ?

IE >> tools>> internet options>> security tab>> click Restricted sites >> sites . This should be full of the sites set in SD Spy-bit Innoculate? Now check the "Custom level on this page it should be set to "disable "
