I'm going to write a list of 31 de clutters that need to be done so I can aim for 1 a day.
    CM

Brilliant idea :T:j:T If the list is done, I will do it. Otherwise I will dither about what to do next. Thanks for that.

    Have a good holiday.

Off to make a list - after another coffee.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

My first declutter for August will be the old bathroom :) which is being taken out on Monday and replaced during the week :)

I might try to sort through some books this week, and suspect my mum will assist in the decluttering too! And I will think carefully when putting things away whether I really need them!

MG - do you want us to publish our plans, or post what goes each day, or week or at the end of the month, or just tips on what has helped (free cycle/freebie/bootsale/eBay/CS/better storage) to reduce the clutter or post for ideas about what do do about stuff we're hanging on to unnecessarily?

Off I go to take DD for her first outing with her dad since the court. After that I have my first acupuncture appointment, I am really hoping that it will help.

Will catch up with you when I get back (before the big DD room bliz). At least cat litter tray has been cleaned, recycling put out and dishwasher is on. There is hope...

Glad to see you back Greenbee - hope you had a good night's rest.

Good to hear from you Clooties Mum, have a lovely Cruise with oh (no need to justify, celebrate it )
    Hope you sell well Claire.

Giggles at Karmacat and her garden list - oh do I empathise.

Plans for today include finishing the glossing of my shelves and maybe painting the garage wall, this'll be a first as I have never done any masonary painting before.

    Have a Super Saturday folks.

Hear hear, and thank you for the giggles - in spite of watching the neighbour's little kitten adoringly, I need all the giggles I can get :j

It really is, isn't it ... though in the spirit of self knowledge, I have to confess I'm *rubbish* at sticking to lists that say "I'll do this today and that tomorrow"... very attractive idea, tho.

I hear you loud and clear. I don't intend to make a list with days, just 31 things - some small some large. Then I can get ahead of myself or slip without any guilt. Have just realised that we're not going home till 15th so I'd better put a load of little things in. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Also, I'm not above adding a few TADAs - with a drumroll hitched fore and aft. A great believer in headology am I

I've come up with 29 things, mostly not too strenuous which should help keep me occupied.

Currently hunting for a corner shower caddy that screws on to the wall (suction ones seem to fall off) and won't rust... Turns out not to be that easy...

Anyway, bathroom cabinet is ordered, neighbour's cat fed, waitrose order placed and mother has gone for a walk to the shop for bits for today (and to get some exercise!) sun is coming out, so hope to spend most of the day sleeping in the garden.

Oh! I understand now :j now that, I like! And I might even be able to do it - in fact, thats a great way to avoid being overwhelmed by a to-do list.

I have found a victim to do my credit notes at least. The receptionist was looking very relaxed when I went out for a rant :)

Yay to delegation! Many hands make light work and all that. Glad you survived it all.

I now have a Plan B supposing funding for my job isn't renewed. In true Matrix style it involves setting up my own small business, one I think I would have a lot of fun with. Current job is secure till end of March next year, funding for my post is applied for year to year so it has never been taken for granted. But at least knowing what I would like to do and that it's achievable and I would enjoy it, gives me plenty to think about and also enjoy some market research in the meantime (it involves food :j), even if I never need to put Plan B into action.

I also made a major decision this week about my appearance. Hair and despair quite rightly rhyme: 4 years of chemo-type medication have done their worst and so it's time for a little artifice - a blonde and gorgeous wig. I have a final fitting next Thursday (should have done this in Year 1 but I wasn't well enough). Oh the huge uplift when I looked in the salon mirror and saw a decent head of hair and a lovely style that really suits me! Not cheap but worth every single penny. Less than the cost of a pair of designer specs. And every bit as good for my morale. Best of all - no VAT because for health reasons. Instant 20% off! (Not available on the NHS according to my GP, as hair loss not total). Still, I'm happy to pay for the undoubted benefits. I'll never have a bad hair day again:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:!

2 bits of fabulous news there GQ :T.

Thrifty - you are roaring through your jobs list :j. Can you please send some energy my way?

Robsmum and Greenbee - more healing on its way to you.

Cheery - I hope your mouth is back!

Clairewop - Lots of sales vibes for you today.

Things are coming together for me. My new car has been delivered and is now waiting to be collected to have the adaptations done - hopefully I will be able to have my first drive in about 2 weeks time. I may have to go and sit in it a few times in the meantime to find out how everything works. My old banger didn't have any technology (even the radio was broken) and this one has loads.

I managed to get my job application finished and emailed off yesterday. My top priority this weekend is to write two frog letters for which I've already written notes (that's the easy bit!) and some more proof reading for the charity as I'd really like to get the last few documents finished this week.
