MG: Have sent you a PM.
Thank goodness the tablets have kicked in an today am not in anywhere near as much pain:j. Not working is not good for my bank balance, yesterday I spent £20 on Amazon and been scouring EBay this morning.:eek:Th,e EBay is allowed though as I am looking for a new/upgrade of my sewing machine but not sure what I want.
I am looking at Brother any of you sewers who can advise me? My current sewing machine is a very basic Singer and not really suitable for my crafty/MSE bits.
If so you might be able to get a much better 2nd hand machine rather than buying new and they could advise what would suit your needs0 -
Bitsy_Beans wrote: »Oh dear 40SM.......have school not done anything to help his transition to secondary school? What is secondary schools Special Needs Policy? I am not yet in that position as my DS is only 5 BUT I would have thought the SENCO as his Primary school would have discussed his transition with you rather than just writing a rather negative note on his school report :eek:
The school have been quite good with his transition. The SENCO teachers at new school seem to be very good and will give him extra support. We are also in the process of getting him statemented so hopefully that will help a little. I also have an appointment next week with child mental health team to discuss his phobias and OCD's ( germs, sickness etc) so hopefully things will move on. My main worry is that he is going from a school with 30 children per year to a school with 250 children per year !!. Quite a big change. He is excited though, so that has got to be a positive.
I would say that you need to really start pushing for help with your DS as early as possible .
The worst thing about the school report was that DS1 read it !!
I really must take my worry head off and replace it with something more positive ( and better looking;))
Thanks for the reply.

The bit highlighted in bold is the main thing. I am not suggesting you're like me but I have a tendancy to over worry and I actually don't give DS enough credit sometimesI have been worrying that he won't cope with the changes from Reception to Year One (he's got a transition book to look at his teachers, photo's of classroom etc) and yet he tells me he's looking forward to it. I really need to relax and see how it goes rather than spending time worrying about what may or may not happen
Good luck with getting the Statement, not had to go down that road yet but I know it can be a PITA at times. Positive vibes yours goes smoothly and that Child Mental Health can give some assistance to his phobias xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

TMIF... Displacement activity counts as procrastination you know
I know...
I am up to my eyes in corrections, fudges and financial bodgery - but I would much rather talk about sewing machines and design my new bathroom
I am a proud procrastinator. Why do it today when the deadline is 10am tomorrow0 -

Lets be honest there's no fun in the drama of getting stuff done in time.....nooo we'd like to leave it to the last minute and wallow in the pressureI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Bitsy,
I am VERY like you! Worry is my middle name .
The had a leavers assembly last week and they showed film & pictures of the kids all the way through from yr R to year 7. I thought my heart would break as I saw him as he was in yr R . Then, we did not realise he had a problem . At the time he was my perfect little boy( he still is to me !!) and I was full of hope for his future education. The time has passed so quickly and I wish I could go back and change a few things.
I am trying to live in the moment and enjoy the " for now " and be grafeful for my 3 little boys.
Be kind to yourself ... it is very hard having ASD/autistic children.
Now just off to break up ( another) fight! Love it :rotfl:

Also - accounting is boring. Journals are naff. Year end sucks.
There are plenty of other nice things I'd rather do
When I had essays to do at uni, I was the one who was up til 4am typing away. Was never late though0 -

Must deal with some domestic frogs today. The house is a mess... Not ready for the bathroom being done (which is clearly why I decided to wash my mattress topper today and spent ages going over it with stain remover, which given the nature of my hospital appointment is probably a little premature:p). Still if I can sort a few things out, I will have help tomorrow as my mother will be here and a friend's daughter is coming over too.0 -
I am really bad when it comes to procrastinating... always find something I want to do then do the thing I was meant to do in the last 10 minutes!Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0
