Sunflower, I will join you on the displacement activity. I have spent all morning updating and playing around with my Linkedin profile. I really need to work out how to hook up the old computer hard drive to retrieve my CV so that I can update it and then get it onto the linkedin profile so that I can apply for the job I have seen. After doing the profile I stopped for a cuppa before starting on the hard drive work and since then I have
    • emptied a cupboard in the kitchen of all dishes
    • cleaned out the cupboard
    • washed and dried all the dishes from the cupboard
    • put all the dishes back in a neat stack
    • cleaned all the worktops in the kitche
    • scrubbed the front and sides of the fridge
    • brushed the floor
    • decluttered the down stairs loo (we can use it again)
    • had another cup of tea
    • opened up the matrix thread to read whilst drinking said cup of tea

I have an hour before I have to go to collect Mr C from work, during which time I really need to get the hard drive going. I also need to have a shower, wash my hair and iron some nice clothes to wear so that if I meet anybody I will not feel ashamed.

:rotfl: :rotfl: you lot sound so much like me in my worst days of PhD avoidance :rotfl: :p

You'll feel better if you get on with it, I promise! :T :T

Speaking of which - another round of scary phone calls for me  Should be better than last time - this time it's "you're fab, tell me more about what you do" rather than "why haven't you done this thing we asked you to do?" :rotfl: :rotfl:

I too have got a cup of tea :coffee: and done a million small things off my to do list :p but there's no putting it off any longer! Come on matrixettes! pens/ phones/ computers/ dusters at the ready (pick the one you're SUPPOSED to be using!) - let's see how much we can get done in half an hour! I'll be reporting back at 4pm... :p

I've been putting off cleaning the fish tank for a while now  So now I'm doing it I remember exactly why I hate doing it... I have to wait for the water filter jug to fill up all the time! I'm too tight to buy the stuff you're meant to mix with tap water so I just filter all the water that goes in the tank through the jug in the bathroom xD

Ok, so I spent the last 45 minutes looking for the scart lead to the computer (all of the ones that I have for my work computers dont fit). Finally found it only to discover that I have no power cable and the ones that I have for my laptops and docking station for work laptop are all too small Aaaaaaarrhhhhhhh. So I know that my CV is on my old computer but I guess that I will just have to set to and write one from scratch. The job application asks for a resume to be attached as well as a covering letter along with the linkedin profile. Thanks for the kick Cheery.

Hey! Don't be blaming me for ironing - I haven't done any for at least 18 months and the last time I looked (not very hard, I admit :rotfl:) for the iron I couldn't find it! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

3 scary phone calls made (with accompanying transfers etc - that's all I could manage in half an hour!). Still, we're further on than we were :D :j :j :j :j Well done everyone! :T

(cheri - how jolly frustrating! hope it sorts itself out soon... and you too willow! Yawn indeed!)
